Unbelievable. I used to sell over a thousand items every month on Amazon, consistently following all their policies, delivering authentic products, and building a solid customer base. Now, Amazon has blocked 90% of my new listings, telling me, “Your account does not qualify.” It’s a complete turnaround, and it seems they’re pushing out smaller, honest sellers who helped build their platform in the first place. This kind of short-sighted decision is going to be the end of Amazon for small businesses. I’m ready to move to a new platform once I sell out my remaining stock. This isn’t a loss for us—it’s a loss for Amazon!
" Now, Amazon has blocked 90% of my new listings, telling me, “Your account does not qualify.”"
Amazon has changed dramatically in the past two or three years. PART of that is actually because of the new laws passed that require them to have verifiable documents to show the authenticity of the products sold here now.
More and more frequently Amazon is taking a TWO STEP approach and you may only be doing one of the steps (and possibly not even the one!) If Amazon is rejecting your ability to sell many items it is likely as a result of NOT meeting these new requirements --
DO YOU have an LOA from the brand allowing you to sell on here?
DID YOU source from AUTHORIZED wholesale sources that your rep at the brand says are OK?
The good side is that they have not suspended you -- just restricted the sales!
Any new sellers that don't have the above are at risk of immediate suspension for an increasingly large number of products.
Pay attention to this recent story in the Amazon 'news' from September 25, 2024.
Sellers were given a 5 day warning that this was being put in place. Sellers have posted that LOAs are required in Europe, so you can see the handwriting on the walls -- this is coming for EVERYTHING on Amazon eventually!

With all the NEW sellers coming onto the Amazon platform daily, you won't be missed (by Amazon) no matter what the size of your business. Amazon will hinder a Million$ business the same way without a second thought. Therefore, don't take it personally.
2 years ago Amazon lost 10BILLION USD on platform sales (including ad sales). AWS was responsible for ALL profits and covering the loss.
1 year ago they made a profit but at 3% margin (compared to AWS that made 2.5X at 74% margin)
YES - they are changing. They had to or they would have been out of this business.
I hear all the time "we helped them be the business they are" - so you helped them lose $10 Billion USD is what you are saying. If your business lost money, you would make changes too!
Every seller should be reading the annual reports to understand the trends and direction of Amazon.
