Amazon has partnered with Kids in Danger to bring you a new toolkit to help keep product safety top of mind.

Amazon has partnered with Kids in Danger to help our selling partners gain a deeper understanding of the complex nature of children’s product design safety. At Kids In Danger, or KID, they spent the last two decades fighting for product safety and are thrilled to be able to offer the KID Design Safety Toolkit as a resource for anyone who designs children’s products.

They have relied on the expertise of thought-leaders from all facets of product design, development, manufacturing and marketing to deliver meaningful and action-oriented content to help you design the hazards out before your product is even in prototype.

The KID Design Safety Toolkit covers the following topics:

  • Why it’s imperative to keep the end-user in mind from the very beginning
  • The value of research and how to incorporate it at any budget level
  • How to design to encourage intuitive and safe use
  • How to market with an eye toward safety
  • Age grading and developmental considerations
  • Understanding consumer behavior and designing to ensure safety in real world use

The course curriculum is delivered by a cross-functional team of experts in children’s products across all facets of development, from product design to research, safety, testing, legal, manufacturing, marketing and more. It’s the ultimate master class designed to benefit anyone who works in the children’s products industry.

I have 377 products I sell flagged as non compliant with the reason "upsc_childrens_jewelry_US-merchant".

90% of them are no way closely related to kids. Is this part of the program. Why a majority of the products are flagged incorrectly?

I have started the appeal process but just feel its such a waste of time.

Must be why Amazon is flagging jewelry that isnt childrens jewelry as childrens jewelry. Maybe fix the bots.

Maybe Amazon can partner with the FTC or the FBI to crack down on all the fraud on site like sellers calling items 14K gold and claiming they are stamped 14K that are neither ? Or calling Moissanite "Moissanite lab created diamonds" which according to the FTC is deceptive and unfair.

Would be nice if Amazon could concentrate on existing problems with AI and less new things until they catch up.

If amazon is involved stay away. This is more unnecessary compliance.

Amazon will take kids in danger and turn it into Sellers in danger.

The hidden news behind this is that Amazon has concerns about liability because someone is claiming that one of their products hurt a child.

In the near future we can expect gratuitous posturing like this, so that no jury will believe that Amazon would do anything to hurt a child.

A few years in the future, when the liability issues are resolved, Amazon will quietly forget about Kids in Danger.
