Hey,
I am the Brand Owner of my own product and the only seller of my ASIN.
When I launched, I launched with a lower price to entice customers to try my product.
I have slowly been increasing my price over time as the product gains momentum so I can reach a price that is actually profitable. Until now I have only been losing money on it.
But when I recently increased my price, my price heath dashboard showed me this message: Not eligible to be the Featured Offer due to significantly high price: You can set your price in line with the reference price(s) to become eligible to be the Featured Offer
This is my ASIN: B0DGGRBWVV
I wont be profitable if I sell for a lower price. In fact I need to increase my price further. My product is ultra premium and offers much more than my competitors.
So how do I get the featured offer back? I raised a case with seller support but they just gave me the generic responses. Case ID 16698069211.
It seems unfair that I dont have control of my price and how it will show to customers. I don't sell this product anywhere else but Amazon so there is no external reference price that Amazon could use.
Please help! I want customers to be able to use the featured offer to buy my product.
OP: "When I launched, I launched with a lower price to entice customers to try my product."
That might work if you are selling the same product weekly to the same person, but not if each seal is to a different person.
OP: " Not eligible to be the Featured Offer"
That means exactly what it says, it is not eligible!
OP: "set your price in line with the reference price(s) to become eligible to be the Featured Offer"
Now that means, maybe/maybe not, If and when the bot says so, sometime in the endless future, not tomorrow for sure.
OP: "I wont be profitable if I sell for a lower price."
Of course it won't. It is your product. You know how much you paid for it and how much it MUST sell for to turn a profit. Amazon doesn't care if a seller turns a profit or not, Amazon always gets its' profit out of the seller.
OP: "My product is ultra-premium and offers much more than my competitors"
That only matters if a buyer takes the time to compares your product to others. Very few buyers do this.
OP: "So how do I get the featured offer back?"
You don't. The Featured Offer (Buy Box) is not a right or a given. It is like the old Clairol TV add used to say, "Only your hairdresser knows for sure". Now just replace the hairdresser with Amazon. It is run by an Algorithm Bot that giveth and taketh away.
In addition, Amazon uses this as a ploy to entice sellers to use FBA but remember this. There can only be one Featured Offer for each unique product. Sellers seem to enjoy it when they have it, and then complain when they do not. But remember, when a seller is disappointed with the loss of the featured offer, they seem to forget, another seller is happy with that loss, because it is their gain.
