15+ Negative seller feedback from cancelled orders- please help!

Over the past 2 years a single person has been purchasing an item, and immediately requesting cancellation. Then they will leave a 1 star seller feedback with comments like “drop shipping from Best Buy”, “fake, China made”, or “scam, not real”. This has been happening for a while but has recently escalated to the point where we are getting multiple orders a week from this “buyer”.

We have done everything we can think of to combat this. We’ve:

- messaged the buyer (recieved messages along the same lines back)

- requested feedback removal each time (doesn’t violate guidelines is the response we get)

- reached out to seller support using a multitude of “ what is your problem” responses (over the phone they tell us they can’t do anything further and online through “Get help” they respond with the same script. They also tell us to go ahead and approve the cancellation, which opens the door to further reviews)

- talked to the account health people (out of their hands)

They are sabotaging our account, abusing Amazon policies, violating guidelines, and holding up our inventory. Our satisfaction rating has been 97-98% for our entire selling history, but has dropped down to the sixties and seventies in the last 30 days due to this. We are seeing a direct impact on our account, sales, and other metrics.

What can we do to get these fake reviews neutralized or prevent them from purchasing from us? Is there anyone we can talk to about this issue?

This is truly an extremely destructive tactic from a competitor that we can’t see a way to fight.

Any decent platform allows sellers to block buyers. Amazon allows scum to thrive on their platform. Formulate your plan B, because there's likely nothing you can do.

One more thought...see if the buyer was dumb enough to use the same address as his seller address, and see if he's a competitor on any of your listings. If Amazon refuses to do anything to stop him, then I would do the same thing to him. If Amazon shuts you down due to bad metrics, you might as well take him with you.

I'm sorry to hear this.

You must report this activity and report a violation under account health, once you do, you'll receive an email with a confirmation of the investigation.

Make sure you provide name of the customer, the order information and all the cases you have opened.

Make it simple and easy to understand

Once you receive the email from Amazon that the investigation is completed, open a new case and request escalation to seller performance team so they can review in detail the issue and hopeful they will remove the defects from your account

Good luck

This if the kind of situation that makes selling on Amazon totally suck. Does the buyer always use the same name / are the sales coming from the same account? Maybe you could talk to an attorney and send a cease and desist since it's defamation. Not sure if that's "against" Amazon's policies. You would have to check.

I would also search the buyer's address to see if that gives you any info + google the person.

I pray for you and your situation. Hang in there!

Don't accept the cancellation, as you had already processed the shipment and the carrier picked up. Ship it via another ship option with signature. Bill them for return shipping when they return it. It hits back and lets them know you are also willing to play. You may also bait them into mail fraud if they start fighting proof of delivery.

If that doesn't work, get on a plane and hand deliver it with video.

I will happily spend 100x what someone steals from me punching back. Scammers going to scam until handled.

alfter careful review,

DO NOT CANCEL THE ORDERS

ship them out

Amazon buy shipping label

YOU DO NOT NEED them to sign for it at all

AMAZON BUY SHIPPING LABEL is all you need and ship them fast and on-time

They will leave 1 stars, again BUT this time you will get paid for it

Ounce you hit the money part they will stop

NOW they may file a a to z claims, this is where Amazon will see it all.

Ask for an aduit of the buyers actions, let them know they are a bad actor

DON'T FREAK-OUT, stay clam

You have to screenshot every single purcahse from that same buyer, show the reviews for canceled items, and spoon feed the violation to Amazon Seller Support. They will not do anything unless you can show that the buyer is abusing Amazon TOS and that you will keep escalating the issue. Hopefully a mod will catch on this post and help you. They cannot take direct action, but they can help raise the issue to someone who may be able to help.
