Read onlyAs a new Amazon seller with large-sized products that require LTL freight carriers for shipping, I have encountered a challenge in setting up the LTL shipping option. Since Amazon does not provide a direct connection to LTL carriers for quoting rates, I am looking for guidance on how to establish LTL shipping from my warehouse to customers without using Amazon's preferred carriers.
Given that LTL shipping rates vary based on the carrier and distance, how can I navigate this process to ensure cost-effective shipping for my products? Are there any third-party integrations or services that can help me connect with LTL carriers and generate shipping quotes seamlessly within the Amazon seller platform? Additionally, as a seller managing my own warehouse, what are some best practices or considerations to keep in mind when implementing LTL shipping for fulfillment?
I would greatly appreciate any insights, tips, or experiences shared by fellow sellers who have successfully integrated LTL shipping into their operations on Amazon. Thank you in advance for your assistance!

Freight-shipping templates for less-than-truckload (LTL) shipments
You should stop and think long and hard about if you really want to sell this type of product on amazon. Here is a few of the things that we have personally had to deal with and if you search the forums you will see that several of these issues have been ongoing for years with zero help from amazon.
Freight is ordered to an address unable to receive or unload the crate. Like the order we had for a 10ft long saw unit to a 3rd floor walk up apartment.
No phone number to arrange delivery, check for docks or forklifts or any other important information for freight orders. No one answers the phone from the automated amazon provided number.
Freight cost for their rural area is 2 or 3 times the shipping rate you quoted in the listing. (add a buffer to this to start if you can)
Freight gets delivered to the curb with a liftgate, customer signs the BOL yet they either "never got it" or its "damaged" but not marked on bol
Item needs to be returned for whatever reason, amazon just refunds due to the problems with return freight scheduling or nonavailability.
OR they do successfully return the item by LTL carrier, it will be with a company you don't have a contract with and the cost exceeds the merchandise price.
As for the shipping end we just set up shipping as we normally do then add the tracking to the order like you would for seller purchased shipping on small items. Do make sure that the freight mover you choose is listed in the amazon drop down list of carriers. I wouldn't use anyone not on that list. Good luck!
Greetings,
I know some information has been shared already, but I would recommend visiting this page as well: Seller requirements for LTL, FTL, and FCL deliveries. This details all relevant requirements you should know about with LTL shipments. There's also a page for carrier requirements, which I would recommend after reading the above link.
If you still have questions after reading those pages, let me know!
