Hi guys… I really need some advice here:
It happened on Monday, the day we was supposed to send the package ($75). We came back the next day to try to retrieve the package but it was gone. USPS lady told us that they have contract with Fedex so maybe they would just toss it over to Fedex or else, it will be delivered back to us. We waited for a day but the Fedex tracking did not show that they receive it nor it does now.
It is Wednesday now and we have to send customer a replacement package so she can receive it by Friday (we have until next Monday to deliver but we don’t want to keep her waiting).
We called Fedex and the nice lady there said she will put a stop on the package for us if it will eventually show up at one of their places.
So my question is how to add another tracking number to the purchase so that it shows we ship the package and customer receive it. I am thinking about cancelling the current shipping label and re-purchase (We’d rather get hit by a late shipping (0 late shipment so far) than tracking show not delivery), but question if it is allowed to do so?

Accidental drop offs between USPS and Fedex, and others, have a hand-shake policy. Each will pass the package to its appropriate shipper. No worries! Best of luck!
It may delay receipt of the item by the correct carrier by a day which may delay delivery to the customer by a day as well but that is about all you have to worry about.
We never had that happen. If something that was suppose to go FEDEX or UPS and USPS got ahold of it, we never get/got it back, it was just oh well sorry about that but you screwed up and put it in the wrong bin or sent it out the door as USPS and not UPS or FEDEX. I can only imagine how much stuff they must get and it just goes into a black hole.
