I know you people will say you have to use codes purchased through Gs1. I have made listing’s in the past and have used purchased through other channels. I know some people sell already used codes. I have searched to see if the code I was trying to use was already used on amazon, Ebay and so forth and a few google search’s and UPC data bases and cannot confirm that it was used before.
Is this a error in the amazon system?
No… No Issue, Amazon caught you. The System is working as designed. What was working in the past may not work now or in the future.
This is not an issue of using a UPC that has already been used.
This is an issue of you trying to assign a UPC to a brand you do not own and Amazon caught you. This is not allowed …
Those brands have given Amazon UPC information so sellers may not do this to bypass restrictions on their brands,
Then either purchase UPC’s from GS1, or request an exemption from Amazon
