We had a A to Z claim resolved against us that was filed yesterday. Amazon did not even let us reply to to the claim and just refunded the buyer. In addition, the buyer is a complete scammer who claimed we sent him a big empty box with just 1 small item inside of it. My staff would never do such a thing. We also confirmed the product was produced on the day of production and placed in the box. The buyer would not even provide us with the requested photos so we could investigate the issue.
Why does Amazon function like this? It's ridiculous.
appeal the A to Z.

This also happened to me this week on a $900 item. Amazon allows people to scam me with fraudulent A to Z scams once or twice every month. I have never had a problem like this selling on eBay for 25 years. I always appeal and never win. Last month the buyer said she received the product but it was delivered one day late. Amazon automatically gave her a full refund and let her keep the product
Every time I get scammed, I have my granddaughter go through my listing and raise all of my prices by another 10%. I pay her by the hour. She makes good money.
You may want to file a Police Report and send the report to Amazon.
I tend to stay away from shipping high value items for this reason of scam attempts. If selling an item(s) of high value I would take pictures and videos before shipping and while driving to carrier. Ask the carrier to give you a receipt on the weight of the item received and keep that receipt on all high value orders.
I have had this happen to me before so I know its very crushing and maddening that someone would steal from you.
The buyer would not even provide us with the requested photos so we could investigate the issue.
I missed this the first time through but it could be the reason you lost...you cannot ask the customer for pictures
appeal the claim
When you appeal the claim then you can remind them its claims protedted.
We are having an issue too. Buyer orders, I sent it, Amazon says 7 days delivery. He then files a return after 3 days, and Amazon refunds him. "Reason - didn't arrive in time". There are 4 more days, so what is that even mean? How is Amazon refunding this? It is in time. How would it even get delivered in 3 days (more like 2 and a half) from one side of the country to the other side?) Amazon just helped a scammer. And I'm 100% sure that they are going to blame me for it somehow, because they always do that. Even though I did follow all the rules.
