I have had two instances in 2 weeks where media mail wasn't offered for a book because it said that it couldn't be delivered in the timeframe chosen. I don't know that I ever chose a time for delivery. I had to go to the post office to buy media mail (the mailman usually picks up off my front porch). How do you change the delivery time?

If you are on the Pro plan, you can change your Shipping Templates. You must also make sure that you turn off ANY automation that Amazon pushes on you, as they will routinely promise the customer timeframes that the shipping side won't see as viable.
As a side note, you can purchase MM online from other sites; although the SO handles that so I don't have details, but I know it used to be through PayPal. There is also PirateShip.
As a second side note, when you are shipping books with Amazon's "Buy Shipping", you have the option of Bound Printed Matter, which is significantly less expensive than MM. But before using it, go to the USPS website and read the rules regarding it. In my experience, the service equals MM, so no reason to not save some money.
As Picks by Nisha states, you can buy Media Mail online -- PirateShip is a good option as it is free. Media Mail costs the same no matter where you buy it.
I think on PirateShip, the first time you use Media Mail you have to do something to add it to the options -- not sure as I only use PirateShip for international (from sites other than Amazon)
Appreciate both of you for jumping in above!
