Clarity on return policy return dates, What is 30 days after Receipt? Is it 30 days after the order is placed and shipped? 30 days after the item is delievered?
Curious about the return policy for Amazon, I'm looking up a bunch of information about returns and keep finding people using the phrase 30 days after the receipt. What is the receipt specifically? Is the receipt the order receipt? Is the receipt the return request date? Is the receipt after it is delievered? Confused about the vague wording, would love some clarification on what is meant when people say 30 days after receipt. I have 2 different return requests I'm curious about, both of the items have not been returned. The request date is 21 days ago with the order date being 31 days ago, and the other order, the request date is 19 days ago with the order date being 33 days ago. I'm curious if you can close a return request based on the order date or request date. Or does the 30 days start when the product is delivered?

They can request a return within 30 days after the order has been delivered.
The customer has an additional 30 (I believe) days to ship the product back.

It's my understanding that it is 30 days after the last day of the estimated delivery date. So, if you deliver early they get more than 30 days to make their request.

Hi @Seller_KTUHr1dXchyI5
Most items bought on Amazon.com, including those that are seller-fulfilled, can be returned within 30 days of the Estimated Delivery Date. However, the timing may vary based on the product category in accordance to Amazon’s Return policies. To determine if a product has a longer return timeline, go to Amazon.com Returns Policy.
Following authorization of a return request, the buyer has 15 days after the return window closes, allowing for transit time for a buyer to return an item.
I hope this helps. Susan
