Tips to effectively manage seller-fulfilled orders this holiday season

by News_Amazon

In the final weeks of the busy holiday season, we recommend the following best practices to manage seller-fulfilled orders:

  • Customize your Notification Options to ensure you’re subscribed to the right notifications and that the right email address is on file.
  • Keep an eye on your Account Health. During high sales periods it’s especially important to monitor your late shipment rate, pre-fulfillment cancellation rate, valid tracking rate, and on-time delivery rate and proactively resolve any issues.
  • Set your Order Handling Capacity to the number of seller-fulfilled orders you can ship in one day. The default handling time for seller-fulfilled orders has been updated from two days to one, but you can set a longer SKU-level handling time.
  • Make sure your delivery promises are accurate. Check your shipping templates to make sure you can meet the transit time set up, or enable Shipping settings automation to automatically calculate accurate delivery promises.
  • Use vacation settings to set your listing status to “Inactive” and stop orders from coming in if you’re unavailable over the holidays.
  • Use Amazon Buy Shipping labels to help protect your account performance metrics and benefit from Amazon’s pre-negotiated rates or your own connected carrier rates.

Ok, that was nicely put. Now make your Next News Article on what Amazon is doing to help sellers in stopping return scams and fraudulent returns, not just during the extended Holiday season, but all year long.

I'm sure that is one issue sellers would really like to know. Here are some bullet points to address.

- Amazon Buyer Abuse Prevention Team... What have they done to reduce the amount of buyer return fraud, by reporting their accomplishments to sellers monthly.

- Safe-T Claims... How many annually are submitted reporting buyer fraud, and how has Amazon prevented the individual buyer from abusing the return feature in the future.

- Surveying Sellers... How many sellers simply allow buyers to scam them without reporting or filing Sate-T claims, due to the amount of time involved to file a claim.

- RFS as a Tool to Promote Buyer Return Fraud... An explanation from Amazon as to why they believe RFS program does not promote fraud.

- Providing Monthly Fraud Reports... One for fraudulent FBA returns and one for fraudulent returns reported by FBM sellers.

This Amazon News Article would not be written showing the dark side of selling on Amazon but written is a positive light showing how is leading the way in making selling on the site a more relaxing and positive experience.

Here, I fixed it:

Customize your Notification Options to ensure you’re subscribed to the right notifications and that the right email address is on file. However, if you unsubscribe from a class of notifications, we'll simply create a new class with a slightly different name and the same content, and continue to spam you. We also aren't responsible for mail delivery, even though we have over aggressive filtering technology.

Keep an eye on your Account Health. During high sales periods it’s especially important to monitor your late shipment rate, pre-fulfillment cancellation rate, valid tracking rate, and on-time delivery rate and proactively resolve any issues. This is particularly important as Amazon may silently change your lead time from more than 2 days to 2 days.

Set your Order Handling Capacity to the number of seller-fulfilled orders you can ship in one day. The default handling time for seller-fulfilled orders has been updated from two days to one, but you can set a longer SKU-level handling time. We may alter your lead time after you set it. Pray that we don't alter it further.

Make sure your delivery promises are accurate. Check your shipping templates to make sure you can meet the transit time set up, or enable Shipping settings automation to automatically calculate accurate delivery promises. Automated delivery promises will be out of your hands, and we will punish you if weather or work stoppages affect delivery. Also, we'll send you nastygrams about having too long a shipping gap, even if you aren't responsible for the temporal claims we're making. These issues with delivering too soon and too late are how we define "accurate".

Use vacation settings to set your listing status to “Inactive” and stop orders from coming in if you’re unavailable over the holidays. Or, simply wait for us to shutter your account due to arbitrary decisions, poorly written bots, and a poor grasp of statistics. Same result.

Use Amazon Buy Shipping labels to help protect your account performance metrics and benefit from Amazon’s pre-negotiated rates or your own connected carrier rates. Of course, those savings will be more than taken away if we surcharge you on our return labels. And this is in no way an extortion scheme. We aren't saying "those are some lovely metrics you have here ... it would be a shame if something happened to them.

You're welcome.
