Read onlyWe need this addressed ASAP - Here are two separate ASIN's we sell, we are FBM - our shipping template has AHT and SSA enabled
Why are these two delivery estimates shown to customers on the catalog page so WILDLY different! It's hurting our sales greatly since October 1st - Most of our listings are showing incorrect delivery estimates!!! - Below is a difference of a week with free shipping.
We also offer free expedited for most of the country, which doesn't show up at checkout for our customers, we need an explanation as to why our shipping speeds are being GROSSLY overestimated and why our expedited shipping options are being SUPPRESSED!
This is destroying our sales.
First ... AHT is Amazon controlling the handle time for the item which would be the same for both total transit time estimates. You can rule this out as part of the issue.
Two different customers with two different zip codes could see two different estimated delivery times which could be a week a part depending on how far away from you and the type of shipping service being used.
With SSA enabled, the shipping template becomes very important in the calculation of the estimated delivery times. If you are looking for OTDR protection, expedited shipping will NOT have OTDR protection. In addition, the types of shipping services that you have selected (USPS, UPS, FedEX, etc.) will have an effect on the estimated delivery time.
When using AHT and SSA, you might consider revisiting your shipping template set up and start by making it simple with just standard shipping and selecting the shipping service that you use most often. Since you normally would have offered expedited shipping for free, we would suggest setting up standard shipping with the shipping service that you use when you would normally do the free expedited (remember that all shipping services will still be available as long as they can meet the estimated delivery time given to the customer).
We use AHT and SSA with standard shipping and USPS Ground Advantage (less than 1lb) and have seen consistent results.
This whole week has been upside down...
This is the time of year amazon has problems. Not new. It will get worse before it gets better.
Unfortunately, it is not a glitch. Amazon is in the process of running a live experiment with us as the guinea pigs. I have posted about this issue weeks ago. Here is another thread also with mod responses. We noticed a massive decline in sales starting October 1 and that lasted for about 3 weeks until Amazon decided to randomly stop punishing us for no reason whatsoever. Looking at the delivery time gaps Amazon really screwed up here as shown below. As you can see they ruined sales for us for no good reason.
The reason why the older listing are showing a different set of delivery dates from the newer listings is because the newer listings adopt the delivery rules you set up under SSA. The older listings assume you will ship those same items using whatever carrier and speed you have used before. If Amazon deems those carriers to be flawed they will punish you by extending the delivery promise dates shown to buyers.
If your delivery methods under the SSA rules are deemed "faster/better" those windows will be shorter as there is no delivery history to punish you for (yet).
Is it a glitch or Amazon trying to con customers into needing to pay for expedited shipping.
