This year, for the first time, we noticed that FedEx and UPS ground are giving their packages to USPS to deliver for them. Seems like a great plan right up until you realize that once the package gets to USPS (which, because they do the delivery our USPS carrier picks the packages up at our home and scans them in real time- meaning we do not need to deliver them to UPS or FEDEX).
Unfortunately, none of the USPS scans show up in the Amazon system, nor does the USPS tracking number. As such, we have had a ton of customers send messages wanting refunds because they think their package has not shipped yet. We have had multiple returns where the product was delivered on time, but the customer was concerned it would not be there by Christmas as no scans showed so they bought it somewhere else. Further more, if the package is delayed or lost (which almost all of my drastically late shipping has been using FedEx delivered by USPS- all guaranteed by Amazon) and they file an A to Z claim, Amazon is siding with the customer because it shows the package as never scanned. However, if you take the USPS tracking number, which is provided ON the FedEX shipping label (printed directly from Amazon labels) it shows all the scans and delivery information.
For the love of Pete; I am not a rocket scientist, nor do I write code, but it seems to me that it wouldn't be too much to have the new tracking number auto load into Amazon labels.
Amazon clearly knows that FedEX and UPS are doing this so why would the system not include the, already provided for, USPS tracking number and scans? Why would we be dinged when it doesn't go as planned, when it says it is guaranteed?
For anyone who has not seen the label on this one I have attached one with redacted customer info- including removing some of the tracking info numbers.
