Mult Channel Fulfillment Customer Returns automated
Hi,
A few questions about MCF return process and how to make it automated if possible?
- Is it possible to automate returns for multi-channel fulfillment orders? Below are the instructions for MCF return instructions, however, what if I do not want to manually create return shipping labels for each customer?
- What is the solution to automate returns like FBA on Amazon?
- Can I create one return shipping address to an Amazon fulfillment center and include it on the packing slip?
Any suggestions on how to make this process automated or at least efficient and a not so time demanding task? The grueling task is, for example, having 100 returns a month and now having to create return orders for each one manually in contrast to FBA on Amazon handing the whole return process for you.
Thanks,
Jesse
Create an MCF return
In Seller Central, on the Orders menu, click Manage Orders.
On the Manage Orders page, click Advanced Search.
In the Search drop-down list, make sure Order ID is selected. In the Search Order ID text box, enter the order ID for the item to be returned. Click Search.
On the Manage Orders page click the order ID.
On the Order Details page, click the Create Customer Return tab.
For each item in the order to be returned, select Return quantity and Return Reason.
Click Submit to generate the RMA and return shipping label.
Send the RMA and shipping label to your customer so they can prepare the return package.
Track an MCF return
Follow steps 1-4 above.
On the Order Details page, click the Return Status tab to view the status of a return.
After the return package is processed at a fulfillment center, the return status will show as Processed. If the item is, for example, damaged by the customer, there will be additional details in the Disposition column.

I’m not sure if there is a way to automate it and not sure if just having them send them back to an FC with a return label will get the items properly received back into your inventory.
We just have our customers return them to us and then we will send them back to FBA with our next shipment.

Sorry, no automation. You don’t need to use MCF returns - as mentioned by HDMS, you could deal with your returns on your own. There are some shopping cart/website products that can do returns for you, but you would need to integrate your shipping account for prepaid labels or ensure that you have a function for generating labels that they can print themselves (and pay the shipping to a carrier).
Also, for Amazon to receive the shipment correctly, you will need to use their label file with the packing slip that matches against the order it was shipped out under.
