We were selling a hair tool, but we had a lot of returns after Halloween.
As a result, our products are marked as "frequently returned item".
We analyzed return reports,
37% don’t want it,
16% purchased the wrong product.
Now what do we need to do to remove this mark,
Then how long does the review take?
And I bet they were not returned as NO LONGER WANTED OR NEEDED, were they. That is the way Jeff Bezos designed things to work. Return the product as defective, or another false reason, and you get a free refund. And amazon will hold the seller accountable for selling a bad product too.
It will not change until the company gets broken up into smaller pieces.
Amazon needs to prevent buyers from returning holiday items after the holiday has passed. Too many buyers are just "borrowing" products. They are using and damaging products, then returning for a full refund.
This is like return fraud.
Hello @Seller_AwOneXSQzYNcQ- and thanks for starting this discussion. I am sorry to hear about the recent spike in returns.
For the frequently returned badge currently impacting the ASIN, this is applied by comparing your ASIN’s return rate with the return rates of similar ASINs. Amazon will be monitoring return rate and automatically remove the badge once return rate approaches the suggested return rate. It is also possible it gets removed earlier, if Amazon sees a consistent downward trend in returns, even if the return rate hasn't yet reached the suggested return rate.
I understand this might not be the answer sought, but I do hope it helps show how the process with this badge works. Please let me know if you have any questions I can help address.
Thanks,
Danny
Be glad you don't sell prom and wedding accessories. A friend owns a centerpiece business and because of this "burrowing" has gone under after 30 years in business. She said last June she received 65% of her sold back as returns. This isn't only on here either. Not one was how it was sent. This new aged way of returns is a disgrace
Between wedding supplies and Halloween, what are the changes you are in the "rentals' business.Customers too young to be able to afford their purchases.
Customer know Amazon is a FREE rental or extended warranty rel=placement site for older items or items not even originally purchased on Amazon. Amazon is business on profiting on transactions you can do nothing. Remember Amazon spent over a decade of creating this generation where alternative facts matter.
Halloween returns are absolutely horrible. My payout stayed stagnant for several weeks after due to the returns that came in. It affected how we did business this year too as we took many asins to merchant fullfillment. This has helped in several cases where we were able to issue the refund. I put a 50% restock on a used baby costume, the most I could apply. The customer was truely miffed and surprised she wouldn't get everything back for a dirt and candy embedded used costume. Amazon has coddled these theives and created the perfect fraudulent environment.
And its driving us out of business.
Are you charging restocking fees on those returns?
