Just received a suspension asking for invoices and documents. Amazon suspend accounts without a warning? This is very dis-respectful and not acceptable by general market practices. These are unfair regulations done to sellers and Amazon need to change their system. It reflects badly on Amazon. In Amazon seller poll stats showing that there are many sellers that say Amazon is unfairly treating them. We request for a change in the suspension method, to give a warning of at least 24 hours to gather and submit documents. Now we are losing sales because Amazon bots caught something risky. These suspensions are hated with passion and hope one day they will end perhaps if there is a good system. Dear Amazon, do you want the government to suspend your website the same way you treat and suspend sellers? While Amazon has rights of ownership, it does not give it the rights to set the rules unequally and should get suspended the same way as sellers. All sellers join the discussion to set the rules fairly, please vote below to support this change. If there is enough support, the case will be presented to federal courts and government agencies.
This is why Amazon handles violations in the manner they do.
When third-party sellers can all sell legal products in full compliance with all Federal and State regulations, without violating Intellectual property rights on a massive scale, then I suspect Amazon will take a less draconian approach to reported/suspected violations.
Every few weeks, you can read a news article about dangerous or illegal products sold on Amazon, or how third-party sellers are rummaging through landfills and rubbish bins for things to sell on Amazon, or third-party price gouging of essential pandemic supplies, or a congress is demanding that J B testify before congress regarding third-party sellers abusing and harming consumers. Until third-party sellers can get with the program what do you expect from Amazon? Every day on this forum there are posts from sellers who got suspended unjustly. The vast majority after a little discussion it is discovered have violated several laws and/or regulations.
Sure innocent sellers do get caught up in the system and it can be very stressful and take several weeks to resolve the issue (been there done that), but what else can Amazon do (other than the obvious which is to just say good-bye to third-party sellers)?
Right now on Amazon their are products offered for sale which violate Federal Law and put consumers at risk (for example ASIN B07VFB3KHY & B07GZCXRX6). Do you think it is right that Amazon not have the ability to yank these illegal products immediately upon discovery? Do you think it is right that Amazon had to pay the largest fine in EPA history last year because of third party sellers who sold illegal pesticides on Amazon, which resulted in several deaths, and these third party sellers closed up shop and disappeared into China and had no consequences for their criminal actions? I never hear sellers complain that it isn’t fair that Amazon let’s them sell their products on the biggest ecommerce site in the world and make lots of money, with out first submitting anything more than a credit card. But when Amazon shuts off the spigot because a seller might be engaged in illegal or unethical behavior and gives the seller due process through an appeal process, the first things sellers do is start crying that Amazon is an unfair bully, we need to take them Amazon to court.
How is it disrespectful to suspend an account and request documentation, which if you are legitimate you will have, demonstrating that you are legitimate?
I’ll let you in on a secret, if the EPA, FDA, or FTC knocks on your business door and asks questions about the legality of your products, you will know how gentle Amazon’s suspensions are. When the government investigates, they literally march your employees out the door change the locks and then after you have demonstrated that you were in compliance, they might let you have your plant back and resume operations.
No, no it won’t
You clearly don’t have an understanding of why such security is in place.
I realize you just need to rant, but your understanding of the platform, its history and the agreement you signed, are elementary.
