I have an INR scam that I am dealing with and I’ve seen the SAFE-T claim mentioned in the forums before. My questions is what is a SAFE-T claim and what is apply to? Would it help with a false A-Z? Thanks in advance for helpful replies.
So glad you asked. Was wondering the exact same thing.
Is a Safe-T claim, ONLY for labels or for an entire order?
Following this thread …
Thanks for asking Samsoun !
SAFE-T claims are solely used and was created to assist with recouping pre-paid return label costs under the new automated returns process.
For example, let us say you have a buyer that got a return label for ‘Arrived too Late’, but tracking shows it arrived within the delivery window as stated on the order. The buyer would have received a pre-paid return label that, once scanned by the carrier, is deducted from your account balance. Obviously, you are not responsible for this label cost. You would file a SAFE-T claim to have Amazon reimburse you for the cost of the return label you paid for.
Another example is when a buyer chooses ‘Not as Described’. If you can show evidence that it is as described, you would submit a SAFE-T claim to recoup the return label costs charged to you.
So, SAFE-T claims are only to appeal and receive reimbursement for the cost of return shipping labels.
MAV!
Okay, Last week I filed a safety claim for an item that was returned to me incomplete.
I refunded 50% then filed the claim.
Amazon responds with:
Hello,
We have granted your appeal against the return of order 112-4610841-4361xxx. You do not need to issue any further refund to the buyer for this return.
Sincerely,
So? They approved my charging re-stocking fee and reimbursed me for the label.
Suppose the buyer turns around and files an A-Z … Am I covered?
This sentence is confusing :
‘You do not need to issue any further refund to the buyer for this return’.
Yeah… I can see the confusion from this statement. I mentioned numerous times during the beta of this program that this needs to be reworded or removed all-together.
Amazon assumes that if you are challenging the return shipping costs through the claim, you have reimbursed the buyer per refund policy on the undisputed amount (product and initial shipping, restock fees, etc.). This statement is just saying their outcome requires no further refund to the buyer with respect to shipping label is all.
I was told that this claim/statement on a successful appeal is not factoring any other policies except that of the return label cost and whether a further refund is needed to the buyer on this fact or not, and since the statement was on an appeal notification it was not necessary to quantify that fact.
We got our 1st auto return notice; it came by email
Reason “arrived too late”
Book, ordered on N. Years Eve was sent Jan 2 and arrived 1 day before the “start” of the AM delivery window
So couldn’t be faster and obviously not late
Will that be a prepaid label, as “arrived to late” is a bogus reason?..will the bots pick that up? …Is AM perhaps just sending them a non- prepaid label?
Have not noticed a label deduction yet…notice was 3 days ago; but I guess buyer has to mail book back before we see the label deduction.
Are photos required for SAFE-T claims where the return reason is “ordered by mistake” or “no longer wanted/needed”, etc? Where the buyer would normally have to pay the return shipping? I am assuming no but wasn’t sure if anyone has experience with this.
Absolutely not. That would indeed be +double-dipping+ and not “kosher”…
A safe t claim can be used for the prepaid labels but also can be used as I just filed one on an order because a buyer returned a used water filter claiming it was the new one. They stated that the water filter was not filtering and wanted to return it. It was automatically authorized as per amazon policy. I got it and inspected the filter and noticed it had brown sediment all over on the inside of it. It was also full of brown water… The filter looked like it had been in a fridge for 6 months. They buyer was obviously trying to pull a fast one and get the new filter send the old one back, get paid back and keep the new one for free. The dates didn’t match on the filters either. I take a picture of the dated items I send to cover my butt. I submitted the safe t claim and it was granted. I do not have to pay the buyer back for anything now. So it can be used in these instances also.
