Dear Selling Partners:
Thank you all, for reaching out regarding your concerns regarding USPS rate increases. We have confirmed that the rate adjustment was implemented July 1st, instead of July 10th. Tools like Buy Shipping take time to implement changes. Due to the relative closeness to Prime Day (July 12 - 13), there were concerns the changes could impact your ability to Buy Shipping during this time. As such, the change was implemented early; however, the difference in rates will be reimbursed for all orders automatically by Amazon’s system during the impacted period.
If you have orders that have not reimbursed for this difference in rates after 30 days, please reach out to Seller Support with your list of impacted Order IDs to request a refund. You can confirm if an order has been reimbursed by reviewing the Payments Dashboard in Seller Central.
We appreciate everyone who brought their concerns to the Forums regarding this USPS rate increase. Please note, we have reached out to the appropriate leadership to improve communication so that future changes are shared proactively. While we understand the inconvenience this change creates, we want to ensure that you have a successful Prime Day without any risk to your ability to fulfill orders.
You can learn more about USPS price changes on the USPS website.
Thank you for your understanding,

Good afternoon:
I received an update that all impacted sellers have been refunded. Can you confirm if you are still awaiting a refund. If so, please let me know, and I will escalate the matter internally.
Thank you,
Gary
I recommend everyone take a screen shot of this post for when Seller Support REJECTS a refund request.
Refreshing that you acknowledge that making changes near Prime Day (or to extrapolate) and/or other major shopping days could impact us. Although we have been saying that for years and years AND have term for it. #MerryGlitchmas
Yet, it is now July 7th AND I am sure that this was discussed internally before July 1st since you mention:
Tools like Buy Shipping take time to implement changes.
I would hope so.
FTFY
We overstepped our bounds and are causing you to lose money. So if our bang up system doesn’t reimburse you, then you can contact our Seller Non Support agents (who will know nothing about this at all) who will do all they can to not actually provide you with help. Thank you for giving us more of your money that we begrudgingly will give back to you because you caught us red handed.
Hahahahahahahahahaha
Thank you, @Gary_Amazon! Much appreciated communication here.
Going forward–and given that USPS will likely continue to adjust rates in the vicinity of Prime Day dates:
@Gary_Amazon, thank you for taking the lead on this and for your hard work. It is clear you understand the issue and are trying to help. We sellers truly appreciate your hard work and undoubtedly uphill battle to update us. The following comments about this debacle have nothing to do with you.
I don’t believe for one nanosecond that this was a planned event. Somebody messed up big time (dropped a zero), and now this is their cover story, that Amazon didn’t want to implement this during Prime Day. Give me a break. I do believe this is the CYA story that’s being given to Gary and anyone else who asks, but it just doesn’t hold water.
I think Amazon’s legal team would have some interesting things to say if this really was planned. Intentionally overcharging for postage (sold by a federal agency), taking money that isn’t Amazon’s (an interest-free loan) without any warning. Who would think this was a good idea, attempting to hoodwink Amazon’s third-party sellers?
Of all the sloppy, uncaring actions Amazon has taken over the years, this one makes my Top 5.
And I will believe the refund promise when I see it, which I do not expect to, given Amazon’s track record with things of this nature.
Good excuse to wrest that extra money for 9 days. It doesn’t go to USPS now does it?
So… All orders 4 ounce, that were cheaper to ship first class, could have been shipped media mail if the increase wasn’t put out early? No way to recoup those fees right?
Hey Gary_amazon pass this along some might have 4 got THIS IS A TRILLION DOLLAR COMPANY & we’re having mailing issues =I’m sick & tired of B ing of sick & tired …stay clean and safe and out of the line of fire
Interesting because today I had several (9) “adjustments” made to previous shipping charges, but instead of being credited $$, more was charged! With no explanation, I might add.
No adjustments for me. I haven’t had a stinking sale since June 29. Planning on dropping my Pro account soon.
So have the mispriced rates been corrected internally for the time being? Will Media Mail be back to $3.19 until the 10th?
EDIT: Just checked and…nope! Still overcharging!
