Fee waivers to help you start selling in Singapore

You can now expand your sales by opening a store on Amazon Singapore. To help you get started, we are waiving the Professional selling plan subscription fee (S$29.95/month) and promotional fees for all Deals and Coupons through June 2021.

Compared with selling in North Americas, Fulfillment by Amazon (FBA) Singapore is offering you affordable logistics shipping and lower FBA fees. Amazon Singapore is in English so your listings will not require translations.

Watch our Facebook video from Amazon Southeast Asia Online Seller Summit 2021 (Singapore) held in January 2021. For more information, visit the Sell Globally page on Seller Central.

If you have any questions, you can join the conversation in Seller Forums and comment in the post. We will respond within two business days.

This might be an easy marketplace for US sellers to enter.

I see through Seller Central > Inventory > Sell Globally that Amaozn.sg provides some helpful information before proceeding to the right of the page

And also under the Pacific-Asia section of the Learn More page

While we have not looked at Singapore, I would like to provide input as I have spent quite a bit of time in country.

Before that though, tax impact would be important. We looked at the UK market, and the issue of them (UK seller) being able to send a $600 item to the US with no tax impact, vs. Us (US seller) having a tax on any item over $6.00 is just not a good for eCommerce.

  • Singapore is a very affluent country. Fourth richest in the world.
  • They require English be learned in every school, they consider it the “language of business” it is one of four official languages of the country.
  • They are very strict on drugs in the country, if you visit be very aware of this. If not you may never come home.
  • This small country is very, very clean. Chewing gum is outlawed. The penalty is $100,000 USD and two years in jail.
*Caning is a mandatory punishment for rape, drug trafficking, illegal moneylending, and for foreigners who overstay more than 90 days – a measure designed to deter illegal immigrants.
  • Trade shows are required to be open on weekends. They then become a more family event, with less of a business focus. The government wants all residents to learn technology.

To this last item it is so odd, being from the US with strict adult business only tradeshows to switch gears from selling to handing out balloons over the weekends.

We joined Amazon Singapore by invite from Amazon last year. After accidentally refunding a customer, our account was deactivated with absolutely NO WAY to contact support regarding the issue.

Every representative in the US has told us that we must contact support in Singapore but that is literally impossible because our account is deactivated, which means we cannot access any of the pages in our seller account.

The deactivation also means that our $1k+ merchandise was unreachable. Amazon Singapore effectively took possession of it and I assume destroyed it or sold it to some bulk purchaser.

How will Amazon correct this issue for other sellers? I can tell you this was absolutely heart breaking for us as we worked very hard to build a respectable brand and we were looking forward to expanding into Singapore.

Amazon has treated us with complete disrespect on this issue. We paid our seller’s fees and we took a chance shipping a fair amount of product to the other side of the world. Amazon won’t even take a call!
