So one of our trademarked listings popped up with a new variation from an obvious drop shipper who simply buys our legit FBA product as a consumer, and has the ship to address as their customer.
We typically don’t care if sellers do this, but in this case they have wrecked the listing variations.
We did the usual test buy and the seller said they shipped USPS the next day. Being the sellers address was in Romania, I was impressed how they managed to get the shipment out to USPS so quickly and how they managed to not use a tracking number.
The item was received a few days later from an Amazon delivery driver and low and behold the item is our FNSKU, but for a different size than was ordered. We documented, photographed, reported, and requested a return so we could see if they would ship it all the way to Romania but instead, they gave us a non prepaid label to ship to Romania. After a brief call to customer service, and about 6 hours of sleep, a prepaid UPS bar code was provided. I took a peek at the address, and it was going to a return center in Las Vegas.
How do these scammers get to utilize Amazon for their returns? How do sellers stay off the radar with no valid tracking? How do you handle drop shippers if they affect your listings?

I do not know about the repeated test buys, but, am a bit confused about your issue.
Am I reading this correct:
You said it is a trademarked product so I assume you are brand owner
They are listing non-manufacturer created multi-packs on your listing.
You want them to go away
If correct, simply open a case in brand registry to report the non-manufacturer created multi-packs. They even have a special “issue” type for requesting this
Support will remove the variation from your listing and make it a stand alone listing, Typically within a few hours of opening the case.
The offender will likely put the variation back in a day or two.
Re-open the original case ad have it removed again.
Rinse and repeat, after about 3 to 5 removals support will suppress their listing altogether and typically will suspend for the multiple listing violations.
I do this weekly and always works like a charm.
Unless of course I am misunderstanding something, then never mind and proceed with test buys if safe to do so.
Perhaps they utilized the order number placed for your FBA product, and you will see the return, and then have to chase them for your refund.
It was ordered from fba and they are the customer and they requested a return. Of course they get a return label. Why is this confusing. It’s not cool but it’s how I would expect it to work.
I have been seeing on a few of my asins the romania group creating multipack variations using the original picture and multiplying the picture and merging it. 3 times+ the unit price. for example 1 is 9.99 2 is 69.99 3 pack is 129.99. The really screw up the variations on listings doing this. Wish amazon could somehow stop them.
When requesting the return, using words like counterfeit or not genuine are helpful for the offending seller to get an invoice request.
Something like “this is not a genuine size XXXX as ordered”
Baffling, Criminals always beat the system!
There is actually a service that sells USPS tracking numbers from the a user selected origin and destination. They are legitimate tracking numbers for shipments in progress between the city pairs, just not for your order.
If only people would spend this much time on legitimate pursuits…
Is the item below $10? Then no valid tracking needed from what I understand.
I tried to a test buy from a habitual drop shipper. I actually was looking at how many items he had for sale and his number was exactly mine. It was in my cart and I was curious if he had any of my items himself. He was making $1 on the purchase (of course, he wasn’t paying for shipping). I purchased one and yes, it was to be dropshipped to myself. I got it in record time and left no feedback.
I am having a hard time finding the ASIN for their newly made child? Any suggestions?
Edit. Never mind found it in the webpage details.
