Yep! Another “No Sales” letter
I currently sell mostly media items with almost 5000 listings and my sales seem to have died a quick death since Sunday night. I have gone through many drops in sales, but this time it seems different.
I have NEVER gone 4 days without a SINGLE sale in 11 years. Sure, it could be blamed on "it’s summer, politics, Amazon is working out kinks or you should be selling bathing suits or whatever.
But, I’m just saying… I feel like I should have dialed 911 or something… OMG!
I recently left FBA but now I’m wondering if I should return or wait it out. Dang!

This thread is competing with Lighten Up.
But the common thread (pun intended) seems like someone will always have a demand issue and someone will always have a supply issue.
Same stuff since 2018 and the going was good then.
Imagine that.
I have seen unusual ebbs and flows lately myself.
Normally I don’t buy into the conspiracy theories about sales, but I sorta think all the inventory / catalog system upgrades amazon is doing may be limiting listings exposure and by extension affecting sales.
Been on here 9 years and have never seen such inconsistency in order volume, both FBA and FBM. Like you, I don’t buy into conspiracy theories but something appears to not be working properly.
Not sure if you are in a position to do so, but list some of these items on Facebook Marketplace, Letgo, etc. We’ve done that to supplement the ebbs and flows of the online world. There are still people who want an even better price and want it today. You can satisfy both of those.
Yup.
I have a few listings that usually have some sales every day, however for the last few weeks, sales have dropped off significantly. I have checked and rechecked my listings following the advice on several threads regarding this issue.
My key words are there, categories are correct, prices are BB competitive, but nothing has made a difference.
hi
i have seen it as well especially in some of my very popular products
even know it can not be proven
amazon is not advertising as much with google and wallmart signed a sweetheart deal with google for search
you put the math together
Def slow and I have repeat customers telling me they can’t find our products any longer. They’re listed, all correct, but not showing up in search.
I don’t know what you sell, but there are many reasons why sales drop:
the recent US Supreme Court decision on sales taxes has caused Amazon.com to start adding sales taxes to sales in many states. This has caused a lot of people to go elsewhere to buy. I expect it will cause lots of people to drop their Amazon Prime memberships, and Amazon’s stock price will fall sharply once that news hits ‘Wall Street’.
fads expire; what was hot last quarter is over and done today.
items are seasonal - wait until they’re back in-season, and sales will recover.
Your prices are too high - price is everything in online sales, and with sales taxes added by Amazon.com , your prices have increased without you doing anything.
It could be something with the US Supreme Court decision, people tend to freak out initially and it goes dead for a while…it will pick up…JMO
There has been some kind of change in the last few months. Not just here, on ebay and at my suppliers as well. Things have been slow there, and the good buys that I used to find when out for inventory, aren’t really showing up as often. Sales are down 25% over last year, and my average orders per day are under 5, when I haven’t been that low in about 4-5 years (typically around 7.5). While that may not seem like a lot of orders, it does easily take 15-25 minutes to prep & pack a lot of my orders and some are quite high margin that I don’t need volume.
Yesterday was busy, I had 11 orders, but today I just have a $5 cable and a $65 vintage DOS game. Oh well, time to get other stuff done.
As for this week, I’m not ordering anything myself. I’m turning off expedited shipping later today, and putting a 3 day handling time on all my items. Many people are probably going to be out of town next week and don’t want stuff sitting on their deck for several days to get blown away, rained on or stolen.
