Yes
For one thing the original “Brand Registry” will soon no longer exist.
It is now harder to get into “Brand Registry 2.0” since you actually have to prove that you are branded with a registered trademark and that you are the owner of that brand.

I have had many clients ( I am a business mentor) ask me if brand registry is important. I do encourage any brand owner who has trademarked their brand identity and can pass the approval process to register. Other than some brand protection provided by Amazon to the sellers the access to the marketing tools that are exclusive to brand registered sellers give you a competitive advantage.

still in the process with the Trademarking. brand registry stated that there is no deadline but said that we’d just have to re register with the trademark info as we are already registered; they did not state that the process would have to be redone.

Actually its not complex. Aamzon contacted me to switch over to the new system to monitor your brand easily. For brand registry you have to send packaging ifo and have a trademark.
Send images and then its done. THen they will register you in all the markets.
We have got on the new system which took about 2 weeks to sort out as there was a problem with the new system. But it was eventually fixed and now on it.
