So I needed to buy a couple of shipping items and when I added the items to my cart it said Delivery Monday, December 9. I checked to see if there was a Next day option, but all it said was Guaranteed Delivery Monday. Normally this would be Delivered to me by Friday. Makes me think they bit off more than they can handle with Next Day Delivery. Well off to Home Depot for supplies.
Im betting Cyber Monday just hit a little hard.
Just noticed that they removed delivery date windows for all my FBA listings. I too bought something FBA on Tue and the delivery promise was next Monday. I bet they are not committing to 1 or 2 day promises now for the holidays.
Don’t forget amz also “adjusts” delivery windows for weather situations. For example, the big snowstorm that traversed the country. I wouldn’t be surprised if delivery windows were adjusted for buyers and sellers in the affected areas.
If you need something “Next Day” buy it at a B&M Store…?
Yeah, I noticed this as well and mentioned it in another thread. I’m seeing Prime windows of 3-4 days on products that I’ve bought for years that have come in 1-2 days max. No expedited shipping options offered. I’m hoping this is only a temporary thing.
Do as I say, not as I do is the rule here.
I work pretty close with my freight carrier people and Fedex reps, and boy oh boy are freight lines overfilled right now. My company alone filled two FedEx trailers and then had some extra that we couldn’t ship (luckily we have 48hours to ship). Cyber Monday was pretty crazy this year, partially due to the fact that it happened so late I think. A lot more people used it for their Xmas shopping. This combined with the fact that we don’t have enough truck drivers in the country (bad hours, not enough pay), is leading to delays in shipping.
If you are new to the game and work with LTL or freight items, heads up. Christmas will be insane, and not only will your freight be delivered late (despite promises), but they will also not be able to locate it once it leaves your doors until it’s delivered.
Amazon had best sales in Amazon’s history this cyber monday. This might be the reason.
Same here, I bought a prime item and it said 3 days delivery
