Hi Sellers,
Prime Day 2026 is in the books. Congratulations on a strong event! But if you're checking your Payments Dashboard and wondering why your payout hasn't arrived yet, you're not alone. After high-volume sales events, many sellers experience delays in receiving their funds.
Understanding how Amazon's payment schedule works, especially after a surge in orders, can save you from unnecessary stress and help you plan your cash flow more effectively.
⏰How Amazon's Payment Schedule Works
Amazon disburses funds on a regular settlement cycle — typically every 14 days for most sellers. Here's what happens after Prime Day:
- Settlement period: Your payment covers all transactions within a specific date range. After Prime Day, your next payout will include those sales once the settlement period closes.
- Delivery-date-based reserves: Amazon holds funds until the buyer's estimated delivery date has passed. More orders in transit = more funds temporarily held.
- Processing time: Once your settlement closes, it typically takes 3–5 business days for funds to reach your bank account.
🔎 Most Common Causes of Payout Delays
1. Account-Level Reserve
It's normal to see funds in your account-level reserve. This is money held to cover potential obligations like open A-to-Z claims, chargebacks, performance issues, or account reviews.
2. Delivery-Date-Based Reserves
Amazon holds a portion of your funds until the estimated delivery date passes. After Prime Day, with higher order volume and longer shipping times, this reserve may appear larger than usual.
3. Bank Account Issues
Your payout can fail if your bank information is incorrect, your bank rejected the deposit (name mismatch, closed account), or you recently changed your deposit method and verification is pending.
4. Account Health or Policy Holds
If your account is under review or has unresolved policy violations, disbursements may be paused until the issue is resolved.
5. Negative Account Balance
If returns, refunds, or fees exceed your sales for a settlement period, your balance may be negative — meaning there's nothing to disburse until the next cycle.
