Drop in Sales – Any Insights?
by Seller_P3E2MCyKcCgb7

Hi everyone,

I’ve noticed a significant drop in my sales on Amazon recently. Despite keeping my prices competitive and maintaining good product ratings, the decline continues. I’m wondering if others are experiencing the same issue. Could it be due to recent algorithm changes, increased competition, or seasonal fluctuations?

I’d appreciate any insights or suggestions on how to improve sales in the current market.

Thanks!

How do the small businesses compete?
by Seller_2xEkbLg91JMJx
Amazon replied

I am very aware of the wholesale prices that I am pay with my distributor and I'm pricing at a very fair rate. But man Amazon just swopes in and dellists virtualy everything saying my prices are too high. How are we supposed to compete. Almost all of these retail prices they point out are either at or below my wholesale price.

Just received this email:

Important information about your Amazon.com listings for MARVEL

Hello,

To ensure a safe and trustworthy shopping experience, we are implementing additional qualifications to sell MARVEL products given the sensitive nature of these products. Specifically, we are now limiting offers to domestic sellers with a track record of steady availability and sales of significant inventory supply. To determine whether you will remain qualified to sell these products, we are now requiring sellers to provide evidence of a supply chain greater than 100 units of inventory from a verifiable supplier. If we do not receive supply chain documentation that meets these requirements by MARVEL, we will remove your listings.

This action does not impact your account health, and you are still eligible to list other products on the Amazon store. We apologize for any inconvenience this might cause you.

How can I keep my listings active?

To continue selling MARVEL products on Amazon, respond to this message and provide all the requested information and documents for the specified listings:

-- Copies of invoices, receipts, contracts, delivery orders, or authorization letters from your supplier issued in the last 365 days that show a quantity of items of at least 100. You may remove pricing information, but the rest of the document must be visible.

-- Contact information for your supplier, including the business name, phone number, address (where applicable), email, and website. We may call your supplier to verify the documents. We will maintain the confidentiality of your supplier contact information.

You can send .pdf, .jpg, .png, or .gif files. These documents must be authentic and unaltered, other than removing or redacting pricing information.

Were your listings removed as a result of an error?

If you believe your products have been misclassified as MARVEL, please contact Selling Partner Support with evidence to support this claim.

Can I sell my remaining inventory?

If you have remaining inventory of the affected products in Amazon fulfillment centers, you will not be able to continue selling your remaining inventory after the date above unless we receive updated supply chain documents. If you would like to have this inventory removed to you, Amazon will cover the cost of the inventory removal. For help creating a removal order, see the following:

If you sell via Fulfilled by Merchant, you will be able to continue fulfilling orders until 2025-02-26. After this date, your offers will be removed unless we receive updated supply chain documents.

We're here to help. For more information about products that require approval, search for Categories and products requiring approval in Seller Central, or see

Sincerely, Seller Performance Team

--------------------------------------------------------

There is no information on if we can buy additional units to satisfy this requirement. Marvel is a small part of our business so we typically only order about 50-60 of the $150 omnibus collections per year. So i guess we're just going to drop the brand on Amazon now.

Anyone else know about this?

Amazon deliberately punishing 3rd party sellers?
by Seller_tEoEoiblBauVt
Amazon replied

15 Years selling on Amazon and It appears that we have gone from "Partner to Foe": in the last several years.

We own our brand and products and have no other sellers. Historically we offer better pricing on Amazon, yet because we have our own warehouse and fulfillment it appears we are being targeted for failure.

1. Lifetime ratings are no longer visible, only your past year shows

2. False A-Z Claims get no acknowledgement or relief from Amazon. A recent case using Averitt Freight delivery with a Photo POD proof delivered to the customers front door was charged ($1000) against us and the claim was used to punish us for 60 days during the holiday selling season, i.e. NO Buy Boxes= no sales. 111-8884341-4047468 Case ID 16921602691

3. No finally our account is back in perfect health and yet still only 4% of Buy Boxes. Seller support says they cannot discuss the details? Why, do they want us to move on and go away? No Support, No explanation.

I cant advertise if I don't have the buy box. No one else sells our Branded items. How do you go from "Amazons Choice" a few months ago to falling into the in the Amazon abyss.

Can a Mod look at our case?

If you are a used fba book / media seller, you need to check your listings. It appears there has been some type of glitch on the back end of Amazon which has changed how the featured buy box algorthim works. Currently it seems to be favoring merchant fulfilled used items even if you match the cost of that merchant fulfilled listing. It's not a pricing issue. Its a serious change in the algorithm. Amazon please fix this glitch or at the very least let us know if you have made an intentional change to how the featured buy box operates.

In the last 6 months of 2024, our company spent time improving our Account Health Rating. We had a few issues listed due to pricing (a different discussion on its own) and addressed these issues. Since August 1st, 2024, we have had zero policy compliance issues. On October 18th, our Account Health Rating was 476. After that, every few days, our rating would drop 2-4 points.

As of now, our rating sits at 392, MUCH less than it was just a few months ago. There are no policy compliance issues, and the few A-to-Z Guarantee Claims we have received have been decided in our favor by Amazon. I check the rating, our feedback manager, our shipping score, and our claims daily. Our Account Health Rating declines every few days even when nothing else has changed. We rarely receive negative reviews (maybe once every few months), and all orders ship the same or the very next day with Amazon's trusted carriers. Our OTDR is in good standing (currently 98.17%), and our valid tracking rate stays at 100%.

I opened a case about this and was told that since our Account Health was still in "good standing" (score over 200), there was nothing that needed to be fixed.

Has anyone else experienced this? Is it a bug? We've worked too hard getting our score to almost 500 for it to decline like this with no explanation.

Hi everyone,

I’m a seller on Amazon, and I’m facing an issue with getting my product re-measured. I have submitted multiple requests through Seller Support, provided images and evidence showing the correct dimensions, but Amazon has not responded to any of my requests. Even after escalating and opening new cases, I still haven't received any updates or resolutions.

This incorrect measurement is affecting my storage and shipping costs, making my product less competitive. Has anyone else experienced a similar issue? How can I get Amazon to re-measure my product or escalate the issue to a more responsive team?

Any advice or shared experiences would be greatly appreciated! 🙏🏼

Thank you!

I've been selling Marvel products on Amazon for some time and recently received the following message:

"To continue selling MARVEL products on Amazon, respond to this message and provide all the requested information and documents for the specified listings: - It is a no-reply email. -- Copies of invoices, receipts, contracts, delivery orders, or authorization letters from your supplier issued in the last 365 days that show a quantity of items of at least 100. You may remove pricing information, but the rest of the document must be visible."

I exclusively order from an authorized distributor and have numerous invoices featuring Marvel products. However, I am unable to reply to the email with my invoices as instructed. I opened a case, which was then transferred to another department (case number: 17300061211).

I've done all that I can on my end and am hoping for positive news soon. Has anyone else experienced a similar issue?

Linking UPS account
by Seller_GDEz1E7peMxYe
Amazon replied

I just received an email from Amazon asking me to re-authenticate my UPS linked account. Here are my questions.....

1) I am FBM and I've never linked either of my shipping accounts (UPS or FedEx ), so why am i being asked to Re-Authenticate?

2) Both my UPS and FedEx accounts gives me better pricing than the amazon shipping discounts that show up when I receive an order. If I link my shipping accounts to my seller account, will I still get my better discounted rates that I have with Fedex and UPS ?

3) If I link my accounts, will i also have the OTDR protection and whatever other protections are offered with the "buy shipping" button i see on each new order?

4) Are there any pitfalls to linking my shipping accounts? Erroneous charges or fees, difficulties or known problems in other ways ect.... ??

Thanks

Am I doing something wrong?
by Seller_rmjsYCGId4E6I

Posting here because I am literally at a loss and i'm hoping other sellers can provide some insight.

For reference I am in the clothing and apparel category, more specifically baby clothing.

I started my business here on Amazon in May of 2023. It took me a while to understand how advertising works and bring my ACOS into profitable margins but by December of 2023 I had it down to a science.

January 2024 was my most profitable month and ACOS was under 10%. I was thrilled. All of my business was FBA.

In February, I ran out of stock in my most popular pattern and sales did fall noticeably. However, they were still very strong and i understood the reason for the decline. ACOS stayed inline.

The beginning of March, most of my listings were taken down due to the textile act and some tech glitches that came with it. My sales fell in half and it took forever to fix.

Fast forward, I finally got it fixed just in time for the summer and then Amazon removed all my listings for compliance. This was my fault since I didn't realize this was a requirement and had been selling so long without it. It took basically the entire summer to get the compliance testing done and then approved.

September, I regained most of the listings, and added more patterns (I doubled the size of the listing, went from 10 patterns, to 23 patterns). I did expect sales to jump up since I had so much more inventory but understood that the fall is notoriously slow for my business, it was last year as well. I didn't think too much of the higher ad cost or slower sales because of this.

I expected things to pick up in December. With all my listings being active, optimized and ready for the holiday season I expected to do at least as well as this time last year.

Unfortunately, the reality has been that I have done half as much in sales and ad costs are over 3x what they were last year. I am spending the same amount per click, however it is taking triple the amount of clicks to convert to a sale.

I have tried to figure out what it could be, and the following is what I have found. I am interested in hearing everyones insight on this.

1. The economy combined with an election year. I, myself find myself adding items to my cart all the time and then reminding myself that things are tight and abandoning my cart, recently more than in past years in my opinion.

2. Last year my amazon business was 100% FBA. This year it is about 80% FBM, only because I didn't have the storage at amazon to send everything. When sales fell so significantly with all my listings being taken down for half of the year, my storage fell with it. Could this be the culprit? Does FBA get that much preference to FBM? After all, it is one listing and some variations are FBA, some FBM. Would the listing be so suppressed in search results to cause the huge decline in sales?

3. Too many choices for consumers? Was putting all 23 patterns in one listing, under 1 parent a mistake? Is it too overwhelming and too many choices for the customer to where they end up clicking away but never actually purchasing? Should I look at splitting the listing? For instance, one parent asin for boy variations and one for girls? But then it leaves the issue of the unisex ASIN's which I have been told have to be either under 1 parent or the other, not both.

I do understand I am in a very competitive category, however this time last year and the beginning of this year sales were great, so i know the demand is there. I don't need to be #1 in my category or do millions of dollars in sales. (although this would be amazing). I am just a seller on here with a small business looking for an extra income. I realize this is not a get rich quick scheme and am willing to invest the time and money it takes to grow and I have thus far continued to spend more time and money despite all the obstacles and Amazon's impossible seller support team. I also do not want to continue to chase something that is unattainable. It almost feels like Amazon dangled a carrot in front of me last year, showed me how great it can be and then took it all away and no matter what I do, I cant seem to get it back. (I know this is not the case, just a frustrating feeling not being able to understand why such a drastic change in sales)

Any advise from any sellers who have been here longer/ are more seasoned?

I am trying some tailored coupons for cart abandonment and I do have enough storage in January to get the listing back fully FBA with low quantities of each ASIN in FBA. I have already started shipping more to amazon. Is there anything else I can do to bring sales back? My listing is showing in the top 100 for my sub category but still struggling to see more than 2-3 sales a day. Last year I was seeing 25-30 per day consistently this same time of year.

All insight and experience shared is greatly appreciated!
