Fine vs Fashion Jewelry incorrectly tagged
by Seller_dIr9sDb2Sdgyp
Amazon replied

Hi friends,

This was my first time listing on Amazon, and one item was mistakenly categorized by Amazon's system as Fine Jewelry instead of Fashion Jewelry. All my ASINs are listed as Fashion Jewelry, but the system incorrectly flagged as fine jewelry. All ASINs are handcrafted Fashion Jewelry, made from sourced crystal beads. They do not claim precious metals or Fine Jewelry classification. Each piece is a unique handmade design and does not meet Fine Jewelry requirements or lab‑testing criteria.

My Case ID 20902503311. Please let me know if there is anything that can be done to fix this on the backend, I appreciate your assistance. Any suggestion is appreciated. Additionally, does anyone have any tips for avoiding this improper flagging in the future? Thanks!

Hi friends,

This was my first time listing on Amazon, and one item was mistakenly categorized as Fine Jewelry instead of Fashion Jewelry. Once identified, I corrected the category.

All ASINs are handcrafted Fashion Jewelry, made from sourced jade and crystal beads. They do not claim precious metals or Fine Jewelry classification. Each piece is a unique handmade design and does not meet Fine Jewelry requirements or lab‑testing criteria.

My Case ID 19495078861. I apologize for the initial listing error and appreciate your assistance. Any suggestion is appreciated. Thanks!

by Seller_WFIsQZaNO6I4B

has anyone noticed the chinese vendors are selling 925 sterling silver jewelry below raw silver price?

even the customers are leaving "fake" in their feedbackas.

and many different vendors share the same exact image for their products.

Manage source cost - Jewelry Catagory
by Seller_oYDcQSYtvcI39
Amazon replied

The price of gold has increased 30% in the past 60 days and the price of silver has increase 100% in the past 60 days and there are tariffs on top of that for products imported from other countries, but when we are trying to increase our source cost by even 10% the system is denying our cost price increase. Everyone in the jewelry category will need to increase the source cost for there products between 30% - 100% but we are not able to. Amazon representatives reading this post please help the jewelry category increase there source cost or guide us who we can reach out to for this?

Hello Sellers,

We're sharing important information about compliance requirements for Children's jewelry listed on Amazon.com. These requirements help ensure the safety of products designed for children and apply to all sellers and vendors listing in this category.

What Products Are Covered?

Children's jewelry includes decorative objects designed or intended primarily for children 12 years of age or younger, including:

  • Anklets
  • Bracelets
  • Earrings
  • Necklaces
  • Rings
  • Watches with decorative elements

This policy does not apply to adult jewelry or precious gems.

What Laws and Standards Apply?

Products must comply with the following:

  • CPSIA — Consumer Product Safety Improvement Act
  • CSPA RCW 70.240.020 — Children's Safe Products Act
  • ASTM F2923-20 — Standard Specification for Children's Jewelry

What You Need to Do

  • Work with an authorized TIC provider. Your products must be verified through an Amazon-authorized third-party testing, inspection, and certification (TIC) service provider. They'll submit compliance documents on your behalf.
  • Provide a Children's Product Certificate (CPC). This is required alongside test reports from a CPSC-accepted laboratory demonstrating compliance with the applicable standards.
  • Update your product detail pages to include a model, part, or item number, manufacturer or brand name, and age recommendations.
  • Include required cautionary statements on your product detail pages as applicable.
  • Your product images must show manufacturer information, CPSIA tracking labels, and any hazard warnings.

⚠️ Non-compliant listings may be deactivated and won't be reactivated until compliant documentation is submitted through the TIC process. Amazon also conducts periodic and random surveillance testing, so staying compliant is an ongoing responsibility.

Hello Sellers,

If you've seen a notification about the INFORM Consumers Act on your Account Health page or in your email, here's what you need to know.

What is it?

The INFORM Consumers Act is a federal law requiring online marketplaces like Amazon to verify business information from high-volume third-party sellers. It applies to you if, in any 12-month period over the past 24 months, you've sold 200+ new or unused products AND earned $5,000 or more in gross revenue.

What do I need to submit?

Amazon must verify 5 things. You can complete all of these in Settings > Account Info:

  • Identity: Government-issued photo ID and a bank or credit card statement
  • Bank account: Upload a bank statement under Payment Information > Deposit Methods. The account holder name must match what's in Seller Central
  • Phone number: Confirm your number under Business Information, then verify with a one-time PIN
  • Business address: Confirm or update your address. Amazon may send a postcard with a verification code (5 to 7 business days)
  • Tax information: Review and submit your tax ID and documents under Tax Information

What if I don't complete it?

If you don't respond within 10 days of notification, Amazon may hold your disbursements. Continued non-compliance could lead to temporary account deactivation.

How do I check my status?

Visit your Account Health page. Look for:

✅ Green check: Verified, no action needed

🔗 Circle with link: Action required, click to start

⏳ In Progress: Submitted and under review

⚪ Greyed out: No action needed right now

Once a year, you'll also be asked to certify your information is still accurate. Respond promptly to avoid any disruption.

have a severe backend contribution lockout. My entire handmade jewelry catalog has been miscategorized by a system bot into the Electronics GL path. My manual edits and Excel templates are being blocked and rejected by the system with a permission error.

I've tried to manually change categories but it doesn't accept them.

My handmade jewelry is in the electronics department on Amazon but on my end the category is hand made and in the appropriate category. I've updated all of my titles, bullets and categories.

I haven't had a sale since mid June which is NOT normal. Views are low.

Is anyone else experiencing this?

Can an Amazon rep please help me?

We’re a jewelry brand selling on Amazon, and recently we’ve noticed something unusual with some of our listings.

A few products that had been performing steadily suddenly started receiving several low-star reviews within a relatively short period of time. Some of the reviews also seem to focus on issues that don’t appear to match the product itself.

We don’t want to jump to conclusions or accuse anyone without evidence, but the pattern has definitely caught our attention.

What’s even more concerning is that we’ve heard similar feedback from other sellers in the jewelry category. Some sellers seem to be experiencing sudden changes in their review ratings shortly after a product starts gaining traction.

We’re curious whether other jewelry sellers have noticed the same thing recently.

Are you seeing an unusual increase in 1–3 star reviews?

Is this happening mostly to newer listings, or established products as well?

Have you noticed any unusual patterns in the timing or content of the reviews?

If you’ve experienced this, how are you handling it?

We’re POXTEX, and we’re trying to better understand whether this is an isolated issue or something broader happening in the jewelry category.

Would be interested to hear what other sellers are seeing.
