Maintain your account health with best practices
The Account Health Rating (AHR) listed on your Account Health dashboard directly impacts your ability to sell in our stores. To help prevent account restrictions, we've outlined best practices that can improve or maintain your rating.
Your AHR measures your overall performance and falls into three categories:
- Green (200 - 1,000): Meeting performance requirements
- Yellow (100 - 199): At risk of restrictions
- Red (99 or lower): Eligible for deactivation
To help increase your AHR, remember:
- Shipping and delivery are critical to your success. Always ship within your stated handling time, provide tracking numbers for all shipments, and meet your delivery commitments.
- Customer service excellence helps maintain your rating. Make sure to respond to all customer messages within 24 hours, keep your order cancellation rates low, and minimize negative feedback.
- Quality listings are essential. Your product descriptions should be accurate and include high-quality photos. Keep your inventory levels updated, remove out-of-stock items right away, and ensure your prices remain competitive.
Professional sellers can also qualify for additional account protection. For more information, go to Account Health Assurance.

Thanks for sharing this. I’m selling fully through FBA, so shipping and delivery are handled by Amazon. However, I sometimes see Subscribe & Save orders getting delayed or canceled/refunded due to fulfillment issues. What’s the best way for sellers to handle or prevent these situations when they’re outside our control?

"keep your order cancellation rates low"
Except Amazon won't validate addresses causing unnecessary cancellations for bad addresses, and then if a seller actually ships will charge sellers in A2Z claims - even for "claims protected" orders - because the address was undeliverable.

This part here is disingenuous.
This does not help increase your AHR. It might prevent it from going down, but I ship all my items on time, I respond to all customers within 24 hours, and listings are out of my hands because I didn't create them. But it doesn't matter, because the only way to increase my AHR from 200 where it has been consistently is more sales, but you never mention that in any of the posts. My metrics are perfect, but it doesn't do anything to raise my score.

Always ship within OUR stated handling time, because we'll force you into our broken automation where we just make up time frames that don't align with our reported average handling times for your products.
meet OUR delivery commitments, because we have for some reason made you responsible for what 3rd party shippers do (the same shippers we use, although for some clearly illegal reason don't suffer the same consequences for doing so)
Make sure to respond to all customer messages within 24 hours, so disregard our other announcements about setting holidays or putting your store in vacation mode
minimize negative feedback by allowing buyers to extort you for feedback removal, in obvious contradiction to our terms of service
Your product descriptions should be accurate, although of course we won't require the customers to actually read these descriptions before providing them a way to make you pay for free two-way shipping so they can try out furniture to see if it "goes" with their living room
Professional sellers can also qualify for additional account protection, although the $5K/mo we'll extort (uh, I mean charge) to have someone actually provide the help to get what we promise in writing comes with no promises whatsoever.
There. I fixed it.

How about Amazon stop using bots to give policy violations?
We were given a serious policy warning being accused of using messaging to manipulate reviews and feedback.
The problem?
We are 100% FBA, so we cannot contact customers.
Thankfully this was removed after 2 weeks, but not after hours on the phone with people who were impossible to understand because of their accents.

Nice post about how sellers can improve their metrics.
Now, let's see how Amazon can improve the Account Health Page.
1. INTELLECTUAL PROPERTY VIOLATIONS
A I have 3 product violations on this line. I did not create the listings as they have been in the catalog for several years with many other sellers offering the same products.
B Amazon totally removed the page from the catalog, for what reason I do not know. So, I remove the product from my inventory.
C. So, if the product has been removed from the Catalog altogether, why do the violations linger there tor 180 days? FOOLISH.
2. OTHER POLICY VILOATIONS
A. I sell only FBM and this week I have 93 Other Violations. Everyone is associated with the Amazon Auto-Bot saying my pricing it too high.
B. I know how much I paid for the inventory, I know the Amazon Fees associated with the sale, and I know my fixed shipping costs. then I set my offering price containing my desired profit.
C. Now comes the Auto-Bot removing my listing saying the price is too high.
D. I cannot change what I paid for the product. I cannot change the shipping coast. I cannot change the amazon Fees associated with the sale. The only thing that can be altered is my profit.
E. This past week Andy Jassy has made public announcements that prices on the
amazon site will be going up. because on import tariffs. Yet at the same time, Amazon is telling me to lower my offering price.
F. So, Is Andy Jassy making a fool out of himself by stating prices will be higher, and at the same time telling sellers to lower their pricing?
G. Amazon Auto-Bots have no clue as to the cost involver in a seller's product. So, by having seller's listings removed for what an Auto-Bot calls too high. Isn't that just plain Price fixing.
Now let's see is Seller News can address these problems that have plagued sellers for years.

We have a case-packed item with its own UPC that has a pricing flag. They want us to sell the case for the same price as a single item. Even with loads of proof: invoice, distributor site showing the retail cost, pictures of the UPCs of both the case and the single (which are different), and even sent pictures of the order page showing the cost - Amazon keeps rejecting it.
Live support agrees that we have the proof, but the AHR bots don't know how to do anything.
Maybe stop letting bots handle something as important as Account Health?

Am new here. My account has been deactivated despite AHR showing green (200-1000). How do I activate it?

Dear Amazon Account Health Team,
I am writing to respectfully request a review of my Account Health Rating (AHR) and an explanation of the factors causing it to decline despite significant improvements to my account compliance and operational performance.
Over the past several weeks, I have worked diligently to address policy concerns, remove problematic content, and improve my account standing. However, my AHR has continued to decrease even as the total number of violations has been substantially reduced.
Account Performance
My operational metrics remain strong:
Order Defect Rate: 0%
Negative Feedback: 0%
A-to-z Claims: 0%
Chargebacks: 0%
Late Shipment Rate: 0%
Pre-Fulfillment Cancellation Rate: 0%
Valid Tracking Rate: 100%
On-Time Delivery Rate: 96.88%
Account Status: Healthy
These metrics demonstrate a strong commitment to customer satisfaction and policy compliance.
Violation Reduction Efforts
When my Account Health Rating was higher, my account contained significantly more open issues:
Previous Status
Received Intellectual Property Complaints: 85
Food & Product Safety Issues: 19
Listing Policy Violations: 35
Account Health Rating: 216
Current Status
Received Intellectual Property Complaints: 74
Food & Product Safety Issues: 19
Listing Policy Violations: 4
Account Health Rating: 200
Despite reducing:
11 Intellectual Property Complaints
31 Listing Policy Violations
my Account Health Rating has decreased from 216 to 200.
Listing Policy Violations
Many of the Listing Policy Violations that were resolved displayed:
"Account Health Rating Impact: No impact"
These violations were corrected, acknowledged, and removed, yet the Account Health Rating continued to decline.
