You can now set a window to auto-approve buyer cancellation requests
We’re excited to launch the Buyer Auto-Cancellation Window feature. This new feature allows you to set a time frame in which buyers can cancel seller-fulfilled orders without the need for you to manually process the cancellation request.
For example, if you set a two-hour Buyer Auto-Cancellation Window and the buyer cancels their order within two hours, the order will be canceled automatically.
If the buyer requests to cancel their order after the window ends, they'll have to submit a cancellation request for your manual approval. Once you confirm the shipment of an order, buyers won’t be able to cancel the order.
Buyer-requested cancellations don’t impact your cancellation rate metric.
To set the Buyer Auto-Cancellation Window, go to General shipping settings.

Is there any way to disable the auto-cancellation? It seems like there is no disable option, and the lowest we can set the automatic time to is 30 minutes. We have our orders imported into different systems for fulfillment and processing, so we need to manually check the order and make sure it CAN be cancelled before we do cancel it. Being unable to review orders before cancelling will cause us many more issues than we ever had reviewing cancellations.

Typically we would theoretically like to participate but often times canceled orders do not end it back in inventory so we have to monitor this. Quite often inventory is not added back to inventory when a cancellation request comes in within a half hour of ordering or orders canceled by us at request of customer

I like this. The less manual work I have to do the better. I set mine to the maximum time of 72 hours so buyers can cancel orders any time they wish before the order is filled.

It would be really nice if you wouldn't just enable this automatically for everyone and not have a way to shut it off. It would be convenient if not for the fact that we (and many others) use third party software to process orders. Guess what happens if the order is automatically canceled and the 3P API doesn't update fast enough and the order is shipped. Customer gets a free product. We had an order automatically cancelled this past week, and I was wondering how that happened. LUCKILY we hadn't shipped it yet. 5-15 minutes for order to import to 3P service, plus 5-15 minutes for shipping info to update to Amazon is 10-30 minutes + where disaster can happen.

I sell through Amazon Custom. We do same day handling time. So we start processing orders immediately when they're placed.. This new system will result in a 30 minute delay before we can start an order. Valuable time when dealing with a 2pm cutoff window. I think Amazon should consider exempting Amazon Custom sellers from this setting.
