Exposing Review Manipulation on Amazon

ASIN #1: B0DWMC6GR9 – Review Hijacking from the Brazil Marketplace

https://www.amazon.com/dp/B0DWMC6GR9

  • This product is a garment steamer being sold on the US Amazon marketplace, but 99% of its reviews come from the Brazil marketplace.
  • The Brazilian reviews are for books, not a garment steamer—which is clear evidence of ASIN hijacking (merging unrelated product listings to boost ratings).
  • Among 889 total reviews, only 14 are from the US, and all 14 are non-verified purchases, submitted on the same day. This is a strong indication that these reviews were artificially placed to mislead customers.

ASIN #2: B0DSSVT65W – High Volume of Fake Non-Verified Reviews

https://www.amazon.com/dp/B0DSSVT65W

  • This product has an abnormally high number of non-verified reviews, suggesting mass review manipulation.
  • A significant portion of the reviews are being posted in bulk every day, while the product’s actual sales data does not support such an influx of organic reviews.
  • Many of these reviews use generic, repetitive language, which is often a hallmark of paid review farms.

I am posting this here because despite multiple observations over time, Amazon has not addressed these violations. Honest sellers should not have to compete against sellers who manipulate reviews, hijack ASINs, and exploit the system for artificial rankings.
