Read onlyMy September 2024 capacity limit is 271.96 (cubit feet) and I have used 215.91 so far. My October 2024 capacity limit is 137.86. Let's assume that my capacity usage reaches 150.00 at the end of September. If I create a shipment worth of 50 (cubic feet) in September and have it delivered in October, will it be rejected because the October capacity is over the limit or will it be accepted because the shipment was created in September, not October?
According to my reading of the document (https://sellercentral.amazon.com/help/hub/reference/GAFNWEYTJUV2GBFC), I will be "blocked from creating new shipments to Amazon", so I'm guessing that creating a shipment in September and send it in October shouldn't be a problem. When I try to create a shipment now, when it is already over the October limit, I can create one and set the ship date to October. So I believe my understanding is correct but want to confirm whether it is true.
I have this exact same question and also can't find an answer. I am trying to use AGL to send a shipment to Amazon FBA. If I request the extra space for October to create the shipment but the shipment doesn't arrive until November how does this work?? Would I also have to request it for November even though I need to create the shipment in October?
Thank you for this response. As usual, the response you received from Amazon support is as clear as mud. It is almost impossible to get direct solid answers about any questions from support. It would be nice if a moderator could provide some further clarity here?
Can no moderators help us with this simple question??
Hello @Seller_Ii6WbM1GE0oWE
Christine here from Amazon Forums.
If on hand inventory exceeds your limit, you won't get charged the overage fee. But if your on hand inventory + open shipments exceed your limit, you will be blocked from creating additional shipments (while still not incurring the fee as it's been eliminated).
Let me know if you have any other questions.

Hi @Christine_Amazon,
Thank you for your comment. However, I must say that your comment did not answer the question raised in this post. I'm already aware of your two comments. I'm also aware of the link you provided in the second comment.
Specifically, we're asking about what happens if the shipment, which was able to be created in the previous month when the limit was not exceeded, "arrived" on the month that the limit was exceeded. Will it be rejected or will it be accepted?
Hello @Seller_Ii6WbM1GE0oWE
Christine here.
If your on-hand inventory plus shipments on the way to our fulfillment centers exceeds your capacity limit, you’ll be blocked from creating new shipments to Amazon. You’ll also be blocked if you are below your capacity limit, but the quantity of units that you’re attempting to ship would result in exceeding your limit.
To maximize the capacity available within your limits, we recommend that you take the following actions:
Cancel open shipments that you don’t intend to send: Open shipments count towards your total capacity usage, so close them if you no longer plan to send in those items.
To view and cancel a shipment, go to Shipping Queue. Click the shipment name and then View shipment or Track shipment to see the shipment details. Then click Cancel shipment or Delete shipment.
Remove inventory
Improve sell-through of your FBA inventory

Hi @Christine_Amazon,
Thank you for getting back to me. With all due respect, however, I agree with Trent_Mart that your comment did not answer my question. Would you be able to review this situation carefully again? If you need any more information for clearer answer, I'd be happy to provide.

i will glad to have an update on this matter, as we face the exact same issue as well.
Hello @Seller_Ii6WbM1GE0oWE
I apologize for the delay in my response; I wanted to thoroughly research your question.
If you were aware of the capacity limit changes before creating the shipment, it will indeed be rejected.
However, if you created the shipment before those updates, we will accept it.
Christine
