Toy Fuzz - After 20 years, finally time for closure!
Well, we rode the wave as long as possible. We got by using mostly the traditional wholesaler to retailer method in Toys followed by Board Games. I'm also happy to say we did it with almost zero dollars in purchased ads. It has just reached the point where we can no longer replace lost revenue from restricted brands with new ones.
We started so long ago that we had to operate two different selling accounts, one for media/video games and another non-media @Merchants account. And for anyone who remembers the OLD forums, we usually posted under nextgen gamer, which was our original account before we were given our Merchants@ account.
It has been a wild ride. The most memorable one has to be the Zhu Zhu Pets fiasco, which I really believe was the event that made the top level executives completely flip how the Featured Merchants section operated. And as the prices fell in the Featured Merchant category, so did the cachet and quality of the sellers in it.
I understand times change, but I really miss the sense of community we had in the old forums. You could sense who was posting/replying just by the tone. There were definitely cliques as well and again that made it feel real. And the poor souls who would ask where to buy their inventory - they were picked apart by wolves LOL!
So while I wish we could have gone on for another 10-15 years, I'm more than satisfied and ready to move on to wherever that is. Thank you to Amazon and of course all my fellow sellers, you will be missed!

Good luck going forward.
There is (hopefully) freedom and less stress AFTER AMAZON!

Hey, Long time 18 year toy seller here, you were a competitor on a lot of our items, we do remember the good ole days of featured merchant, and many others, its so bad now though. With the DD+69 hold of money and now the Carrier Adjustments.
We had a different name as well, are you selling elsewhere? Local? Or just completely retired.
I remember the days of having Toys R Us as a competitor as well. That was funny.

The time is going to come for a lot of us as the "TIMES" change. Not only will AI trigger changes but the types of items some of us sell will definitely bottom out after time.
Best Wishes to you!!!! The days of the OLD forum friends are long gone from here but sometimes I visit them at Sellersasksellers just to see how everyone is doing.
