I created a shipment selecting Non-partnered UPS as the courier, and it gave me some stupid alternate UPS address to send it to (8675309 Jenny Lane). Yes, like the 80's song.
When I went to my shipping service, FedEx was cheaper (it's rare), so I chose FedEx, but still used the same UPS alternate address given to me by Amazon.
Today, I received a call from FedEx asking me if the address was a joke, that this is a reference to an 80's song and that the address doesn't actually exist. I asked them to change the address to the normal one, but I have 6 boxes in this shipment and I don't know if they will actually do it, or if it's too late or whatever.
So my question is, what happens if FedEx tries to ship my boxes to UPS's alternate address that only UPS knows about???
Alternate UPS shipping addresses for new launch fulfillment centers
An alternate address is required if you use UPS to ship small parcels to the fulfillment centers listed in the above help page. I have confirmed that the information and addresses are accurate and confirmed with UPS.
Those addresses are specific for UPS. It sounds like you printed labels with the alternate address, but then shipped using FedEx. I recommend continuing to work with FedEx to correct the address. You can also file a support case checking for other options.
