Not sure what is happening to Amazon, but does not matter if you have tracking which shows delivered to the correct address and you also have signed proof of delivery Amazon still says not enough information... Maybe we need to ask for a drop of blood from the customers finger??
We provided to Amazon all the information we had when the case was opened. We also tried to communicate with the buyer and send them information with proof of delivery but when this case was opened buyer turned off incoming emails option, so all our messages to the buyer cannot be delivered.
Item was received on April 08, 2024 and delivery time shown to the buyer was April 12, 2024. Claim opened on May 10, 2024! The buyer NEVER contacted us! I think, they just thought... hm, everybody steals on Amazon, maybe i can try as well.
Amazon ignored all these facts and issued a refund:
"The customer reported an issue with delivery. In this case, the tracking information indicates delivered, but the customer did not receive the package. Because you provided sufficient information that proves that the order was actually received by the customer, we will not count the claim against your Order Defect Rate"
Appeal also denied with the same reasons! Does not matter what proofs we gave.
Amazon, please respond! Is this normal?

Did Amazon fund the refund or you? It says you provided sufficient information and that your ODR won't be affected.
Hi @Seller_CRHOv021qFYYU
I see that your proof was accepted. They said your Order Defect Rate has not been impacted.
If you purchase your shipping through Seller Central, and if you ship on time and something happens to the delivery, then you would be protected from the claim.
I am adding a link to another post about the benefits to sellers. Please go here to learn more.
Susan
not accepted! my appeal denied!
Granted
Seller-funded: May 10
Order Defect Rate (ODR) impacted: No
So, Amazon simply refunded the buyer, and i ve lost money!
please kindly check yourself! there us no logic here, if they said "Because you provided sufficient information that proves that the order was actually received by the customer, we will not count the claim against your Order Defect", then why we were funded??
Here is the order ID: 701-3157540-2353011
Hi @Seller_CRHOv021qFYYU
Here is what I can tell you. You had proof of delivery so we did not negatively impact your ODR. However, if the buyer says they did not get the delivery, then we believe them. Why? Because there are scams out there. We don't know what happened and you don't know either. We do accept the buyer's claim that they did not get the item. That does not mean that we don't believe you. It is simply that there isn't any way for anyone to know for sure. So, this is how we handle item not received claims by a buyer. We see that you had proof of delivery, but that is not proof that the actual recipient received the order that was signed for. I do regret having to tell you this fact. I wish it was different. But, it isn't. You need to decide if you can work with this model or not. You have choices. Please consider them.
Susan
That is so ridiculous. You know 95% of these claims are BS and Amazon continues to let it happen.
The days of the customer is always right are over. Buyers have been trained by Amazon to continue with this behavior of scamming and stealing. Amazon just keeps making it more difficult to get a fair shake.
@Seller_OvL8C4BJWiuS9
I don't know what percent are BS, and I don't disagree with your logic. I do what I can every day to help sellers resolve issues like these.
Susan
You might want to read your own policy someday, Susan.
It says that proof of successful delivery is a signature. Not the signature of the individual on the order, just an agent at the address.
You acknowledge that scams happen. Then you feed into but accepting anything a buyer says despite clear evidence to the contrary.
Wow! Amazon, thank you! You just gave me an idea how to steal here! Great, we can order whatever we want and then say we NEVER received it! Need to spread this information you gave! I will copy and past and will show aother buyers and seller how you Amazon responded!
This is BS what you Amazon to sellers and how you help scammers!
What you can do is take what you see here to the head honchos there and try to get this mess fixed.
It really is a cluster of policies that are not followed by Amazon itself and seller support or customer service really need to be retrained on what those policies are.
yes, i know it and this is not the first time for me unfortunately. If i was a bad person i could have many free stuff from Amazon, by simply lying to Amazon support. This is not right how Amazon treat their sellers especially whos been selling for many years like us.
I believe this is our point, exactly:
Do you REALLY want to make margins so low here that all sellers leave, after you have taught them every trick on how to be a vengeful buyer and get away with it? How long can this trendline continue? This is basically what Wal-Mart did to mom-n-pops when they moved into small towns ... but this is nationwide. Do you have any greeter positions available?
Contact your postmaster general. They'll refer it to their mail fraud unit. Amazon won't be pleased because you aren't "delighting the customer" but Amazon is an accomplice here.
What I relief, I guess I can save a ton of money not paying for signature capture anymore.
