How to set Minimum Order Quantity?
Hi there. A brief forum search for this topic only yields 2 other questions from 2017 and 2019 respectively. Neither of those threads are conclusive and I’d like some help getting to the bottom of this.
How do I set a minimum order quantity for my products?
My competitors are using the Minimum Order Quantity setting to save on shipping, offer lower prices, and subsequently monopolize the buy-box with a lower price per unit but mandatory higher order minimums.
What this does over time is destroy the ASIN’s rank, because buyers are less likely to purchase an item if they’re required to buy 2 or 6 of it. This seems to be a lose-lose for both buyers and sellers and I don’t think Amazon should allow this but if these are the rules we need to play by than so be it.

If this situation the competitor is selling a multipack of 3. This is stocked and offered as a unique offer and ASIN compared to the single unit offer. The single-unit offer of the product should be sold under a unique ASIN (with its own unique page rank). Also, the single unit offer of the product should have it’s own Buy Box where the parties offering the single unit and the parties offering the 3 pack will not compete.
Mulitpacking is often needed to accommodate for increased fulfillment costs.

Hi @Goat_Consulting, thank you for taking the time to reply but I think there’s been a miscommunication that I will try to solve below 
It seems as though the buybox for the ASIN I posted earlier has changed in the 12 hours since posting it here. Here’s what I was talking about on the original ASIN:

You are correct that the listing is for a multipack, but the seller has restricted buyers to a minimum order quantity of 6 multipacks.
