Why is amazon billing me later for extra shipping charges when I thought they were covered in the transaction? My sells were slow for used books so I had to stop Pro-Merchant because I could not afford it. Now I get this bill for shipping charges that I don't understand. And I can not get customer service by phone any longer.

Understanding Your Selling Plan Change & Fees
When you switched from the Professional selling plan to the Individual selling plan, a few things changed with how fees work. Here's the key difference between the two plans :
- Professional plan: $39.99/month subscription, no per-item fee, and you set your own shipping rates
- Individual plan: No monthly fee, but $0.99 per item sold, and Amazon's set shipping rates apply to all your products
That last point is likely what's causing the unexpected shipping charges. On the Individual plan, sellers use Amazon's standard shipping rate credits — which are pre-set amounts Amazon credits you for shipping. If the actual cost to ship exceeds what Amazon credits you, you may see a difference reflected in your account. For media items like used books, there's also a Variable Closing Fee of $1.20 per item that applies. These fees can sometimes appear after the transaction settles, which may explain the "later billing" you're seeing.
I'd recommend reviewing your Payments report in Seller Central to get a full breakdown of what's being charged. You can find this under Reports > Payments > Transaction View to see individual fee line items.
