Is amazon even worth it?
The state of amazon today is complete and total chaos. The support agents are virtually useless and continue to create their own rules, close chats, ignore requests, and be difficult in general. amazon policy changes are not being followed by staff or are being implemented retroactively to withhold money from sellers' reimbursements. This house of cards is actively falling. All I hear are horror stories.

The horror stories are mostly from those that don't do their research or put in the time to understand how to successfully sell on this platform. Amazon is one of the most difficult to navigate.

Guessing your direct website URL from the store name, it looks like you’ve built an excellent e-commerce site for products to haul and manage waste containers, backed by U.S. patents and trademarks. This one-stop direct site does a good job explaining which combinations of items customers need.
I suspect the challenges with selling those items on Amazon will be:
- Clickbait confusion: Today, Amazon functions more as an ad platform than an online retailer. Each of your listings will be flooded with dozens of ads for lower-cost alternatives, which will confuse prospective customers and drive sales to cheaper competitors.
- Profit squeeze: If you sell under your current brand name, Amazon’s pricing bots could require you to maintain pricing parity with your direct store despite the enormous added costs of selling here. Beware that, as a manufacturer, our rate of damaged returns on Amazon is more than 50 times greater than for our direct store, because Amazon’s zero-friction return policies encourage buyers to ignore your product descriptions, send back opened, damaged items for a refund, and blame the seller with negative reviews.
- Copycat magnet: We know other U.S. innovators who, like you, invested heavily in patents and trademarks. This platform facilitates overseas knockoffs through its reporting tools, ad policies, and import infrastructure, and once those U.S. products gained traction here, a barrage of copycat products began to appear from overseas sellers. Each takedown was met with more small sellers popping up, the infringing manufacturers in China faced no consequences, and the U.S. innovator was eventually driven out of business.
- No easy exit: If you try selling on Amazon under your current trademark and later decide the costs are too high, Amazon’s dominance in search can create enormous problems. Search Google for your brand, and the top results are likely to be "Buy [YOUR TRADEMARK] on Amazon - Free Shipping," linking to Amazon pages that show only competing products or, worse, your listings marked "Currently unavailable," making it appear that you’ve gone out of business.
If you decide to sell here, I’d strongly encourage you to use a different registered trademark and packaging so your Amazon brands remain distinct from your direct products, giving you a fallback if this platform doesn’t work out.
Smaller U.S. manufacturers often report roughly five times the sales on Amazon versus their direct sites, but you need the right mix of products, careful planning, and constant awareness of the meat-grinder rule.

Amazon is worth it for some products, not for others. How to tell is complex and shifting. The best fits seem to be small, semi-disposable items with some sort of a unique edge. We make Amazon-specific products or versions of products based on what we know about how Amazon operates.

Been here longer than most. It is definitely getting less and less worth it every year. Mostly because the postage and seller fee greed is entirely too high and the high level of fraud.

If you're "Featured" AZ is Great...If You're Hidden in "Other Sellers" You Sell NOTHING...
So for the "Blessed?" Its Great for Everyone Else its a Waste of Time...
Try Ebay if you Want an Even Chance of Getting a Sale.
When I'm 1% Featured I Sell 20 book per day...
When AZ Puts Me in "Other Sellers" I sell 3 books per WEEK...!
Its Just that Stark...

Let me put it this way. I get charged thousands of dollars a month for low-inventory fees because Amazon will not allow me to send in more inventory.
