USPS Priority Mail Price Increase
I know there was a USPS price increase starting last month, but just last week I shipped with USPS Flat Rate Envelope for $7.99 and yesterday it was $11.66 for the same thing. Here are some others as well to compare. I do see the rates I'm seeing now are the published commercial rates on USPS site, but my eBay and Shopify rates are still cheaper.

Has anyone else notice this? The only odd thing I can think of was we put our store on Vacation Mode Monday because we had to evacuate due to a fire in our area, but I turned the store back on the next day. Does it mean they removed commercial plus pricing and put us on commercial base?

We see the price increase on our end as well. They have gone up significantly. It would be great if we can get some amazon mods to shed some light on the increase.

I confirmed via chat with SS that Amazon has changed Buy Shipping from Commercial Plus to Commercial Base pricing. They have not yet responded to my inquiry if this was unintentional, a temporary thing, etc. I figure most likely is the sudden and not-announced-in-advance USPS change to Ground zone rates and other changes led someone at Amazon to accidentally implement those price changes using the commercial base pricing files rather than the commercial plus we are accustomed to seeing. While waiting for this to be fixed we will just use Pirateship to avoid these price increases.

Amazon added an additional 3.5% surcharge on top of the USPS fees which also added an 8.5% surcharge themselves. It's a double whammy. I have not seen Ebay do that on top of the USPS fee, nor shopify, because we aren't forced to buy through their platforms like Amazon does in order to get seller protections that's why your Ebay prices are lower they did not add on their own surcharge on top of USPS's surcharge like Amazon did.

What about the fact that today Amazon is over charging 1 in 3 orders wanting up to $5 higher in shipping costs because they say item will be late delivery, Our settings are set 5-8 days but Amazon claims day 8 is late we keep canceling as many orders as possible buy this it total BS and Amazon is aware of this and their response was that they feel shipping price is higher than expected so they force you to pay more. Just today we calculated we paid $36 more for the few orders we shipped because everything is coming up late almost like they are dinging everyone for the coming holiday.....

When settings are 5-8 days that means day 9 is late not day 8! So Amazon not following policy and needs to be held accountable for all the over charging! Until Amazon addresses we will continue to raise prices and delete item from platform!

Amazon is scamming and ripping sellers off left and right using unfair business tactics with weaponizing buy box on listings forcing lower prices this is why every item we sell now before we ship we image and create ebay listings because of the Amazon after DD+69 money grab!

Could it be that Amazon is deceiving us sellers into over paying on shipping because they are adding insurance to the the shipping to cover all the fraud they promote and pushing their loss due to their policies that promote mail fraud onto places like UPS and USPS. Has Amazon ever been held accountable for their actions? They never return funds when they are wrong.

Since I started selling 2 years ago the cost of labels has steadily gone up and recently with gas price spice the labels jumped to around 1-2 dollars more per order. Amazon definitely does everything in their power to push seller towards FBA. It is not worth getting worked up over you just need to realize that its part of the game and plan accordingly. Amazons fleet being mostly electric is a pretty smart move because economic factors like gas prices will have less of an affect. If you sell in high enough volume you might want to do a cost benefit analysis of FBM vs FBA. There are many factors to consider but for me even after the placement fee it is substantially cheaper to go FBA than to continue paying increasing usps rates.

Everything Amazon does creates a feedback loop of their own self destruction. Just looks at the site is is mostly crap garbage junk the catalog is swiss cheese it is no longer one stop shop and all they worry about is walmart temu and alibaba I dont think the Make Amazon Great Again is working out for them.
