IP complaint but it's not our information that is causing the complaint
We received an IP complaint for ASIN:B00NZHHW7O
Unauthorized use for Motorola. Checked our listing and it seems another vender has control over the listing. Our information does not have anything listed using Motorola
Trying to get help from seller support to contact catalog and push through the changes is like talking to a wall.
First they told me iphone was the issue, then they said the actual brand of the item is the issue. When I look at the IP complaint is says motorola.
Either way it’s not us that created the problem but we can get no help in fixing it or getting the IP complaint removed. The item is about 15 years old and discontinued 5 years ago, so invoices are no good per Amazon.
@Alice_Amazon Can we get some help with this please? The case has been open 14 days and I just keep getting the same form letter over and over again.

You will get no help editing another person’s listing. You listed under the item that was already for sale on amazon, therefore you are at the mercy of the original seller for the listing. If he or she never edits, you will have to forget the listing on amazon and sell it elsewhere or if you can show you personally have an LOA for the brand to sell on amazon you may be able to relist the item.

Hi @The_Lunatick_Fire_an,
This is Yvett from Amazon to provide more support on your end.
Understand that you have faced the IP complaint for Motorola trademark.
A trademark is a type of intellectual property (IP) that protects words, symbols, and designs used to identify a company’s goods or services and to distinguish them from other companies’ goods and services. Put another way, a trademark indicates the source of goods or services. Generally, trademark laws exist to prevent customer confusion about the source of goods or services.
Typically, a seller can use someone else’s trademark in the following circumstances:
- When selling authentic goods, a seller may use a trademarked name to list those goods. For example, a seller who lists an authentic “Pinzon” product is not necessarily infringing on the owner of the Pinzon trademark because the seller is using the trademark to identify an authentic product.
- When using a trademarked word in its ordinary dictionary meaning.
- When making truthful statements that a product is compatible with a trademarked product. For example, if you offer a cable that is compatible with the Kindle e-reader, you can use the brand name “Kindle” to indicate that compatibility in the text of your detail page. You cannot use a logo to indicate compatibility, only the brand name. Any statement you make about compatibility must be true.
If you want to indicate the compatibility of your product with a product of a different brand in the product title, please build your product title as follows, taking also account of the Amazon Brand Name Policy. If you do not apply this format to your product title, your listing may be removed as potentially trademark infringing.
Title format for branded compatible products
[Your Product’s Brand Name] + [Product Name] + “for”/”compatible with”/”fits”/”intended for” + [Brand of Main Product] + [Main Product Name] + (other product title elements, if applicable)
Examples:
- Xandu USB charging cable, compatible with AmazonBasics speaker
- TonTon Sleeve intended for Kindle Fire
Title format for generic compatible products
“Generic” + [Product Name] + “for”/”compatible with”/”fits”/”intended for” + [Brand of Main Product] + [Main Product Name] + (other product title elements, if applicable)
Example:
Generic Replacement filter for AmazonBasics Waterfilter A3
If your listing has ‘Edit’ as a next step, please edit it to ensure you are not misusing any trademarks. Once your listing is corrected, it will automatically be reinstated. Please allow 24 hours for reinstatement.
Please Contact Us if you believe your listing was incorrectly removed.
Thank you @E1_to_E9 for your active participation in this thread as well!
I hope my response provides clarification to your question.

Yvett
