Have you seen the Sales Rank FAQ help page (https://sellercentral.amazon.com/help/hub/reference/G202059240)? It actually addresses your exact question under "Why do I not see any sales rank for my Product/ASIN?"
According to the page, your ASIN needs to have at least one sale and be assigned to featured categories (these are special browse nodes). Even after a sale, it can take up to 12 hours for the rank to appear. Also, not all categories generate sales ranks, and Amazon uses certain filtering rules during rank generation.
As a first step: Can you see BSR on your competitors' product detail pages in the same category? This would help us determine if it's a category-wide situation or specific to your ASIN.
