Why did you get rid of sales discounts on single items? Why do you have to use claim codes now? The visibility of the percentage off sales was what worked. Nobody wants to buy two items for a percentage off. This changed in September and it's killed sales since.

What is the best way to offer incentives to buy multiple amounts:

(1) Of the same product.

(2) Of multiple products of the same type. I sell stickers, mugs, shirts. How can I offer a discount for multiple purchases of stickers.

The number of Prime Days every year is far too much, particularly BFCM. How many days is it this year? 10? 11? It should be a long weekend at most.

Customers are fatigued. The Big Spring Sale was a complete dud, and the October event not much better. Those who do participate pull back spending the week before, which cancels out all or most of the gains on the days Prime specials are running.

Sellers are tired of the associated fees, and the rise in Amazon ad costs. I pause campaigns that I know will just eat up money.

Hi there, thanks for hosting this Q&A. We appreciate the chance to ask a few questions that continue to come up for us:

Question 1:

The issue we encounter most often is with the valid reference price requirement. It frequently blocks us from creating coupons, Lightning Deals, and Prime Exclusive Discounts. We are selling these items at the same price consistently across our own site and other major marketplaces, but because our catalog is large and sales volume is spread across many SKUs, we don’t always have deep sales history on every item. This prevents the reference price from validating.

Is there a recommended workaround or best practice here to ensure our reference price is recognized?

Question 2:

The coupon dashboard bulk upload tool continues to be very buggy. The major issue is that when uploading a bulk coupon file, all validation errors for up to ~2,500 items are returned as one single Excel comment in the error file, making it extremely time-consuming to troubleshoot.

Is there a plan to review or update the coupon dashboard and bulk upload functionality? It has been slow and buggy since launch, and improving error visibility would be a big help.

Question 3:

Is there any performance benefit to stacking a Prime Exclusive Discount and a Coupon on the same item, or does stacking not materially improve visibility or conversion?

Question 4:

Outside of major events (Prime Day, Black Friday/Cyber Monday, etc.), is there meaningful value in running Prime Exclusive Discounts or Prime Exclusive Coupons, or are they primarily most effective during peak periods?

Why did you get rid of sales discounts on single items? Why do you have to use claim codes now? The visibility of the percentage off sales was what worked. Nobody wants to buy two items for a percentage off. This changed in September and it's killed sales since.
