How amazon calculate the FBA package size on marginal case?

I never try FBA before, I am about to send my first FBA item. But I am a little bit concern how amazon calculate the FBA fee.
My item is about 2"x2"x0.75" , In the price chart it is on the marginal of Small standard package( 15" x 12" x 0.75" 6 oz or less).

I want to know how will amazon charge me in this case as it is seriously affect my pricing power so I hope they charge as least as possible. Can I appeal on the FBA fee if we have different measurement?

Then that’s what it will be charged. Hopefully the items packaging is very sturdy as you are right on the limit with the .75. If the product can change shape in the slightest, it will be cubiscanned above that .75 and move you to the next tier.

Yes, you can request a cubiscan but again, what I wrote above might be an issue because it’s right at the limit. A machine is used to measure at FBA. Any slight distortion due to how it was shipped / received / made, could cause it to change slightly and the machine will catch that.

IMO, this is too close for comfort so you should assume .75 might not be .75 and that there isn’t much you can do about it. A good rule of thumb is to be 10% smaller than the limit on any side to ensure you won’t have a problem. Also keep in mind that Amazon will periodically check the items on receipt to make sure they haven’t changed.

So you might be great for the first shipment and it could change for the second. Again - if that happens, you can request a cubiscan but there are no guarantees.

Good Luck
