Hi everyone,
I have a question regarding SKUs in Amazon Fulfillment. All of my products are identical in every way (same model, size, color, etc.). Can I use a single SKU number for all units of this product, or do I need to create separate SKUs for each unit? I want to ensure that my inventory management is efficient and complies with Amazon's guidelines.
Thank you for your help!

Ok, you are scaring me. You don't even know what an SKU is yet...and you are ready to slap labels on some stuff and ship it off to FBA? Do yourself a favor and spend 2-3 hours in here, reading posts.....this is NOT a learn as you go platform.
SKU: Stock Keeping Unit.
It is the internal number or letter or combination that a company use to keep track of its product.
Products that are:
have the same SKU.
When you add another product that is different in any way, like a different color or size, you assign it a new SKU.
Is this an odd way of saying "I have a lot of the same item"?
If so, then they should have the same SKU. Whether your have one or 100, it's the same SKU, you just change the QTY field.
Otherwise, I'm not quite sure what your are asking.
A SKU (stock keeping unit) is a specific merchant's product identifier. The SKU is a critical piece of data in every inventory file that you submit to us. Amazon uses the SKUs in your inventory file to associate your products with the appropriate product detail page in our catalog (if one already exists). This means the following:
If your items are indeed identical, they would have the same SKU. Let me know if you have additional questions!
