Just sharing news that UPS (not usps) Ground *SAVER* also known as UPS Surepost has been discontinued as of the new year 2025 and parcels in transmit are being “return to sender” as being undeliverable. We discovered this only Tuesday morning when we noticed incoming ups surepost with final delivery usps postal service were showing undeliverable, return to sender scans. When I called our local UPS delivery facility they said they also were informed suddenly without any warning and dealing with returning hundreds of parcels back to sender. Please note they are not reimbursing postage for all these shipments made.
I’ve also informed Veeqo which is amazons shipping platform of this change and to have ups ground saved removed as a shipping method but it’s still active and I noticed same thing with amazon buy postage it’s still there.
Please see attached pictures of online articles I found using google searches on this topic

I have been googling for days trying to figure this out but cannot find any information except that UPS ground saver is over.
Amazon shipping is still saying to use that service.
A UPS driver on Tiktok says they have like 350 packages that were returned by USPS and they don't have enough drivers to deliver them.
What is going to happen to all these packages I shipped using super saver on Amazon?
This is definitely concerning news, though everything I've shipped with UPS Ground Saver since January 1st are still being delivered as normal. I haven't had any packages returned. The articles you linked all talk about deliveries to PO Boxes, APO/FPO addresses, and Hawaii/Alaska/Puerto Rico. Maybe the only thing being affected are deliveries to those locations.
I am surprised this is not getting more attention. We have 3 packages that were delivered to the Post Office by UPS. However, once delivered the Post Office is not scanning them as received. They are doing nothing at all. Last night I received a new notification about the expired contract between UPS and USPS. It seems that USPS is just letting the packages sit as far as I can tell.
My UPS driver says that UPS is now delivering them instead of handing them off to the post office.
Haven't had any issues yet...........
I'm concerned that UPS will try to bill Amazon for full UPS rates versus the Ground Saver rate and that Amazon will not tell us and just deduct it from our accounts.
