USPS not an option shipping to a PO Box?
We have an order to ship to a PO Box but the only shipping option coming up is Amazon Shipping Ground. This has happened before but not recently. I can ship using a third-party site but would rather not give up the protections that Amazon Buy Shipping provides. Has anyone come up with any other solutions?

It's not uncommon.
Have you checked to see if the shipping address is deliverable by USPS (Sometimes they are not)? Check it on the USPS website.

Probably add insurance as you lose seller protections not using Amazon for shipping.

I've had this happen numerous times over the years, and I can't understand it. For some reason, the Amazon system doesn't recognize the addresses of post offices. I just take it to my local post office, buy my own postage, and enter the tracking number after shipment. I've never had an INR claim.

It's yet another common issue with Amazon that they ignore. If you create a case, seller support will argue with you that either it wont arrive on time if you use USPS to ship, or that USPS doesn't deliver to the post office. Then if you escalate it because common sense and reality say those are not the issues, they will sit on the case for days or weeks forcing the order to be late, for you to cancel it or buy shipping outside of Amazon.

Go into the drop down box of all shipping options and choose the USPS service you want to use regardless if Amazon says it is not claims protected. We have done that multiple times and have never had a problem with a "late" delivery even though some scammers have tried (last one tried yesterday). Amazon is 99.9% wrong on their late delivery estimates.
On the rare occasion Amazon will not allow you to use the Post Office at the service level you choose we use an outside shipping service (Ship Stations has been great for us, especially for our International Shipments - which we exclude from Amazon - enough problems dealing with the United States Amazon scammers and the reason we stopped selling on Amazon Canada).
We only ship by Ground Advantage and do NOT give Amazon buyers the choice of any expedited services after getting ripped off with an Amazon Buy Shipping Express Mail Signature Required delivery - scammer filed an A to Z for "non delivery" 30-minutes after signing for the package - and of course Amazon immediately refunded them. Amazon denied our claim and we reported the scammer to the Postal Inspectors for Mail Fraud.
Now of course with a good buyer (which most are) who places a large order we will automatically upgrade the shipping at our expense.

I went around with support on this - demonstrating that UPS, USPS and Amazon would be delivering to USPS in order to complete the PO box delivery. Went around and around and around, escalated, persisted.
The only explanation I could get was that PO Boxes require the customer to come to the Post Office, and some people cannot do that, so in order to preserve the delivery experience, PO box deliveries are not allowed.
Which is completely ludicrous, why would someone have a PO Box they cannot ever get to? It is because customers figured out how to get refunds even though the order was delivered. So instead of preventing fraud, Amazon disables the seller's ability to use that shipping method.
My support case was eventually DELETED - yes, the case was removed from the system, completely deleted. The case number was 16063142391

You can risk 1 or 2 as its not likely to be a problem anyway. better to ship on time than be late. Maybe use a faster service on Pirate ship if need be
