Handmade listings used to have special fields: Production Method and a related field.
With the reclassification those fields are no longer accessible to sellers and are not publicly shown on product pages.
But those fields were not deleted - they remain in Amazon's backend.
Over time Amazon has changed policies for what is allowed on product pages - and so if a product is attempted to be edited but the hidden "production_method" field now has an issue under current policies - the update may fail and cannot be fixed. This includes AI generated updates to address the title length change.
In my case a Production Method field contained < br > html - which although still allowed in product descriptions apparently now causes an error in the production_method field - an error I cannot fix and an error which prevented the AI from updating a listing for the new title length requirement.

Thanks for documenting this so thoroughly. Sellers hitting error 100339 on reclassified Handmade listings now have a clear root cause to reference when working with support. The legacy production_method field being inaccessible but still enforced is exactly the kind of backend catch-22 that needs the specialized team's attention, and case 21527168891 is in the right hands for that.
