Hi there,
I’d like to confirm how coupons impact pricing history and eligibility for Prime Exclusive Discounts (PED), particularly for major shopping events like Prime Day.
For example, I implemented a 30% discount from March 25 to March 31. But I only intend to offer 20% during Prime Day.
Could you please clarify:
I’d really appreciate any clarification you can provide so I can plan my promotions accordingly.
Hi @Seller_fE3vLozAVG0jb,
Regarding coupons counting toward price history - yes, they do. Under "Eligibility criteria for Prime Exclusive Discounts" here, Amazon states that "The lowest price in the last 30 days is the lowest customer bought price for the ASIN in that period including all deals, promotional, and sale prices across all sellers."
About your March 25-31 30% coupon and future 20% PED - this could be tricky. The Prime Day eligibility criteria here specify that "The Prime Exclusive Discounted price must beat the lowest price for the ASIN in the past 30 days." Since your 30% coupon will set a lower price point, you might want to consider adjusting your promotion timing to maintain eligibility for future events.
As for the pricing history window - I can confirm it's consistently 30 days for PED eligibility. The 90-day period you've heard about likely refers to the "Was Price" calculation for coupons, which you can find explained under "Understanding coupon errors" here.
Hope this helps with your promotion planning!
Best regards, Michael
