My account was deactivated upon registration, what do i do?

This is how Amazon works. You fill in all the information to be a seller and if it goes through, you get the Welcome abord letter, and if you signed up for the professional account, you are billed.

Then, as you found out, the selling account is deactivated. Here is the reason. The Bot sent the first message welcoming you. Then shortly thereafter your application was placed in line for a review by a Real Human and deactivated while you wait.

Now what we do not know is this... With 9.7 million sellers already active on the site, is there 5 or 6330 others in front of you waiting, and does Amazon have 3 or 7 employees doing the reviews at any one time. As you can see by the numbers, new sellers are not that important to the Company.

What will speed the situation along is if you already own an established retail business off the site. This lets Amazon know that you already know how to operate a business and will make a lot less mistakes than the new seller just starting out.

When this occurs directly after registration, it will usually be due to the need to verify your information. This is something all sellers must do after completing the initial registration process.

During this time, Amazon is looking for a government-issued photo ID which must reflect the same information under identity data within seller central. Please ensure this is both the front and back of that document and is clear, in color, and all information is visible.

In addition to the identification document, it is necessary to also submit a utility bill. This will generally be a bill for piped or natural gas, water, electricity, internet, or could be a mobile phone bill. In order to ensure your documents are not rejected, make sure that they meet the following requirements:

  • Be valid (not expired, revoked, inactive or closed).

  • Be high resolution and unobstructed (clear, readable, visible and in focus).
  • Be complete and not cut off from any sides (not angled or cropped).
  • Be a scanned image or photo of the original document taken from your mobile device's camera.

  • Be less than 50MB in size.
  • Be in one of these formats: TIF, TIFF, PNG, JPG, PDF, and JPEG. Do not include special characters in the file name (examples: $, &, or #).
  • Be authentic and unaltered.
  • Must not be password-protected.
  • Be in one of these supported languages: Arabic, Simplified Chinese, Dutch, English, French, German, Hindi, Italian, Japanese, Polish, Portuguese, Spanish, Swedish, Tamil, Thai, Turkish, and Vietnamese. If your documents are not in a supported language, you must submit a notarized translation in a supported language along with the original document.
