A "tentative" agreement has been reached. This means that there will be no strike YET. The Teamsters members still need to vote to approve the agreement, which will take several weeks. So if there is a strike, it won't be until late August.

Sounds like there will not be a strike, but there is still the possibility. So don't abandon all contengency planning yet.

Expect Prices to go back up do fund the union's demands. We were enjoying some really great pricing this past quarter that boosted our profits.

Yes, I discovered this in a rather amusing way.

For about 2 weeks I have been in contact with Diamond Comic Distributors concerning the possibility of the upcoming strike and what Diamond plans to do it it did occur.

I was always told that Diamond will be able to pivot if needed, but considering that the Diamond shipments take over 8 real days to arrive on the West coast, the possibility of a weekly shipment arriving at a UPS HUB that would not be accessible by customers due to the strike was a REAL consideration.

Yesterday was the drop-dead date for Diamond to decide which carrier to use for next week's deliveries, and I had YET to hear back from Diamond (remember last weekend was SDCC, so everyone was there), I was understandable concerned that this upcoming shipment's logistics would be messed-up.

So I called yet again to ask what is being done?

And I was informed that and agreement was reached and there will be no strike.

This was about 5 hours before it "Broke" as a news story on TV or radio.

Maybe Diamond has more "Pull" than I gave them credit for?

The news of strike really affected me.

I use fedex to ship my order.

In the last half month, fedex packages are arriving more slowly than usual.

This manifests itself in: My anxious customers leave me with more A-Z claims and negative feedback.

This nakes me tired.
