Critical: Unauthorized Brand Name Change to "dzotmyn," Loss of Listing Control & Fraudulent Orders

Hello,

We have encountered serious unauthorized changes to our listings, resulting in a complete loss of control over our own products. We have a registered trademark, and our listings (UPCs are registered under Our Brand) were in great shape, with Amazon badges and strong performance. However, our listings have been transferred to another brand without consent, paralyzing our business.

[I have created a case with full details and necessary documents : Case ID 17261267111 ]

Issues Faced:

1. Brand Name Changed to "dzotmyn" (Case ID: 17263032421)

  • The brand name on our two listings was changed to "dzotmyn" without any request or authorization from our side.
  • When visiting the dzotmyn storefront, it appears under the name "Take you to a better place", yet it continues to display our trademarked brand logo, creating a misleading and unauthorized representation.

2. Access to Our Listings Blocked

  • Lost access to the edit listing page, when clicking on it we are asked to request approval to sell, even though these are our own products.
  • If we proceed with the request, the system states: "You are requesting approval to sell dzotmyn brand items."
  • This confirms that our listings have been forcefully assigned to another brand, preventing us from managing or updating them.
imgimg

img

3. Unauthorized Changes to Listing Structure

  • Previously, all three variations of our product were merged under a single parent listing. But now they are separated. Reviews and ratings appear separate. One variation is still under our control with our brand name. But the other two now got separated and are under “dzotym”.

Amazon’s Response on 1,2,3

  • We created a case with Amazon support, explaining the entire situation. However, their response was:

"After a review, we've determined that the attribute you would like to update for this ASIN has already been claimed by another representative of the brand. While we are unable to make updates as per your request, we have sent the changes you requested to the brand owner for consideration. However, please note that they are under no obligation to make these updates. Your change request may be updated only if accepted by the winning contributor, and further follow-up is not required by you on the same."

  • This makes no sense at all. We are the actual brand owner, yet we are being told that another entity controls our listings, and we have no way to regain access.

Case ID: 17260476011

4. Suspicious Business Buyer Orders (Case ID: 17262380601)

We are also facing a suspicious pattern of large purchases from a business account, which appears to be an attempt to harm our brand. These orders are:

  • All high-quantity orders that clear out our inventory.
  • Payments remain unverified, leaving the status as "Pending – Awaiting Payment Verification."
  • We cannot cancel these orders from our side, leaving us stuck with unavailable inventory.
  • A past order was refunded after remaining pending for a long time, reinforcing our suspicion that this is an intentional tactic to disrupt our business.

Suspicious Order Details:

  1. Order ID: 112-0330129-9221047 (20 units, business customer, Pending – Awaiting payment verification)
  2. Order ID: 114-7839177-8064223 (328 units, business customer, Pending – Awaiting payment verification)
  3. Order ID: 111-4954870-7419457 (One week ago, 10 units, business customer, Refund applied)

5. Return Fraud – Fake Items Being Sent Back with Our Labels (Case ID: 17262380601)

It seems like a deliberate pattern is happening:

  • They order from us.
  • Fake order remains pending for days.
  • Items get shipped to them.
  • They return the package—but instead of our actual product, they send back trash bags, plastic wraps, or other junk.
  • Amazon automatically adds these fake returns back into our inventory.
  • Our real customers end up receiving these fake returns instead of our actual product.

One of our customers contacted us, stating that they ordered a bag but received a bag full of plastic wraps instead.

This fraudulent activity is severely damaging our brand reputation, and customers are blaming us for something we did not do.

Past Unauthorized Changes

This is not the first time we have faced such an issue. The brand name was changed without authorization once before (Case ID: 15083035201). The same issue is happening again, indicating a serious flaw in brand control mechanisms.

Brand Registry Revocation

Our brand registry was revoked due to our former attorney being blacklisted. We took immediate corrective action by removing the attorney from our trademark application, yet we have been unable to reinstate our brand registry despite owning the trademark. And we are facing such issues since then.

Urgent Action Needed:

  1. Restore the correct brand name on our listings.
  2. Reinstate our ability to edit and manage our own products.
  3. Reinstate our brand registry.
  4. Investigate and stop fraudulent orders that are blocking our inventory.
  5. Investigate the return fraud and prevent fake items from being added back to our inventory.

This situation is severely impacting our ability to sell, and we need immediate action to resolve it. Please let us know if further information is needed.

Someone changed brand to dzotmyn on our ASIN a week ago. Amazon seller support would not help at all! Did you get a chance to get your listings back?

Our brand registry was revoked due to our former attorney being blacklisted.

if the attorney involved was a scammer, perhaps they did not really submit anything, and just pocketed the money.

We took immediate corrective action by removing the attorney from our trademark application

View post

perhaps the trademark application was made void by using a fake attorney?

have you seen evidence yourself on the official USPTO website that your trademark or trademark application still exists?

a pending application with a fake attorney leading to problems likely means you now need to start over again with a real attorney

The brand name being changed is a different issue, because it is possible to have a brand without being involved in brand registry. Someone hacking your account or accessing it from inside Amazon and changing the brand name on your listings is a serious issue, and unfortunately somewhat common. If you haven't already, screencap the GS1 page showing that your business "owns" the UPC codes.

Hello @Seller_dCZkodJaYtarZ,

Dougal here from the Community Manager Team and thanks for all the info. I can help with the incorrect brand name change and provide some additional insight on the other "Urgent Action," requested.

I have submitted a request to the appropriate team to remove the 2 ASINs you provided in case ID 17263032421 from the brand "dzotmyn."

Unfortunately, I cannot request the original brand name be added back because the original brand name on these ASINs have been marked as Abusive.

You will need to appeal the brands removal from Amazon Brand Registry and once that is complete and the brand is no longer labeled as abusive, I can request the ASINs be re-mapped to the brand.

Have you submitted an appeal regarding your brands removal from Amazon Brand Registry yet? If not, I recommend doing that, especially since you mentioned knowing why the brand was removed. If you have, but need some support or assistance with your appeal, feel free to provide that appeal case ID here and I can take a look.

Either way, I will provide an update as soon as I have one from my escalation on the incorrect brand name on those ASINs.

Best, Dougal

Hi @Dougal_Amazon,

ABOUT THE BRAND REGISTRY:

Our brand registry was revoked and the reason Amazon gave us was vague. They mentioned that it could be due to any of the following:

  1. One or more users on the brand engaging in conduct that violates Brand Registry’s policies, like submitting invalid notices or tampering with the catalogue.
  2. Users on the brand being related to other Amazon accounts or brands that have violated policies.
  3. Failure to provide sufficient evidence of branding on our products or packaging.
  4. Users on the brand having a deactivated selling account.
  5. Our trademark application is being filed by a firm that might be violating USPTO regulations.

And we worked on all these reasons:

  1. We had a few secondary users on our account. These were the employees working on the account. We’ve removed all of them.
  2. This is the only amazon account we own, we have not operated another amazon account on our email or our company. We don’t have any violation on the account health page.
  3. Our product's Branding is done inside with a tag stitched, not on the outside.
  4. We were working with a third party agency. We have stopped working with them. Removed all the access they had from the account.
  5. We were suspecting that the attorney got blacklisted so we removed the attorney from representing us.

DETAIL and SCREENSHOTS IN CASE: [17325279741]

Then we submitted an appeal for the brand registry. But it was rejected. Even though we submitted the self declaration and letter of authorization, invoices and manufacturing agreement.

Appeal Case Id: [17073776591] for you to look at.

We did not file any IP complaint using brand registry, apart from using Report Abuse in the seller central feature when our brand name was changed in the past like it is right now. Case id: [15083035201]

We are not sure where else we did anything wrong that could be marked as abusive and are willing to correct ourself if you can point us in the right direction.

URGENT ISSUE:

  • Our inventory is now stranded and we fear that it will undergo auto removal in a few days if it is not resolved so we need to resolve it urgently.

img

SOME REALLY IMPORTANT QUESTIONS:

  1. Right now I do not want to 'remove' my brand from the brand registry and am not sure that it is possible when the brand registry is already revoked.
  2. If I decide to remove my brand from the Brand Registry, would Amazon be able to restore my original brand name so that I can continue selling under it?
  3. If my brand name is restored after removal from the Brand Registry, would I still be able to re-enroll in the Brand Registry in the future? Because if I remove myself, I might not be able to appeal afterward.
  4. If re-enrollment is not possible, would I have the option to change my brand name and obtain a new trademark to register it again under the Brand Registry?

Are there any updates from your side?

Hello @Seller_dCZkodJaYtarZ,

Thank you for the additional detail and case ID's.

You will need to provide the detail from case 17325279741 to your appeal case 17073776591. This is why you received the response from Seller Support that did yesterday.

For this specific issue of trying to appeal your brands removal from brand registry, you should complete all communication with the appeals team via case 17073776591. The appeals team is the only group that can make the decision of re-instating your brand.

For the ASINs specifically, I do not yet have an update on removing the incorrect brand name, but I check twice daily on this and will provide an update here as soon as I have one.

Currently, your brand is NOT enrolled in Amazon Brand Registry, it was removed and the only way to reinstate it is to successfully appeal the removal and this will be done via case ID 17073776591 as mentioned above.

No, the brand has been removed from Brand Registry for abuse and the brand has been marked as "Abusive," therefore, you cannot use that brand name.

I cannot speak to the ability to enroll a new brand, but with already being associated with an abusive brand, it is unlikely you would be able to enroll a completely new brand. It is also important to note that if you are successful in enrolling a completely new brand, the current ASINs cannot be rebranded to whatever the new brand is. You can find this on the Product detail page rules, on the 5th bullet point below the "Policies for editing detail pages," section.

I will provide an update on my brand name change escalation as soon as I receive a response.

So, Amazon's response to a possibly abusive brand is to replace it with a definitely abusive brand?

And how did the new domain owner hijack the listing? They need brand approval, which they most certainly do not have.

Amazon is quick to point at the "reasons" things are broken, even when they are vague, unproveable (because they're "secret formula") and possibly incorrect. They will never explain WHY any of the things they're pointing to make any sense.

Hello @Seller_dCZkodJaYtarZ,

My escalation was accepted and the 2 ASINs you provided have been submitted to remove the "dzotmyn," brand name. This can take up to 7 days to reflect on all stores. If after 3/11 you have not seen the listings update, please let me know here and I will review.

As for the brands removal from Brand Registry, I am happy to work with you further. I request that you create a new discussion specific to appealing your brands removal from Brand Registry (sperate topic than what was posted here) and post it to the Manage Your Brand category here in the forums and I will assist.

Hello @Dougal_Amazon

We got our listings back, and everything was fine for a few days, and now again, the brand name on our listings has changed, this time to SLSWHLX Store.

And our offer got removed again, we lost access to listings. One of the listings is search suppressed, and we can't even fix it because apparently, we are not the Brand Owner.

img

Our inventory is stranded, we can't sell properly because all these things keep happening to us. Our business is paralyzed. Please look into this and help us resolve this issue.

You yourself can see the situation; we really need the brand registry back to prevent all this. We have worked on all the reasons they gave us to revoke brand registry, and there are no violations now. We suspect that our brand registry might have been revoked because every time we faced such issues, we reported them, and it backfired as an abuse of authority. That is totally unacceptable, as we are the rightful brand owner; we must be allowed to take action on things that harm our business.

Please guide us to a way out of all this, and one more thing: Is there a way apart from brand registry to protect ourselves from this kind of problem?

Hi @Dougal_Amazon ,

Case ID: 17464433891

We're stuck in an endless loop with support. Every time we report this issue, we're told to wait—only to be met with the same response: "You're not the brand owner." This is despite having provided clear documentation proving otherwise. You personally resolved this before after reviewing everything, yet here we are again, dealing with the same problem.

It’s beyond frustrating to keep fighting for something that has already been verified. Can we get a permanent fix this time instead of going in circles?

Looking forward to your response.

Critical: Unauthorized Brand Name Change to "dzotmyn," Loss of Listing Control & Fraudulent Orders

by Seller_dCZkodJaYtarZ

We are the actual brand owner, yet we are being told that another entity controls our listings, and we have no way to regain access.

have you seen evidence yourself on the official USPTO website that your trademark or trademark application still exists?

a pending application with a fake attorney leading to problems likely means you now need to start over again with a real attorney

View post

Best, Dougal

Hello @Seller_dCZkodJaYtarZ,

Please provide a case ID where you have attempted to update the all ASINs to the correct brand name. Ideally it will list all the ASINs and then I can either verify action is being taken or take action myself.

Why are sellers and Amazon always playing defense on this age old issue? When will Amazon step up and do something to stop it before it happens? This is theft and it seems the bad guys get away scott free every time.
