Identify product image sources instantly with Image Manager

You can now use the Image Manager to see if images on your product detail page have come from one of your selling accounts or from another seller.

We select the images displayed on product detail pages that most align with our product image requirements and provide the best customer experience. Previously, if you were selling the same ASIN as another seller, it was difficult to see whose images were displayed on the product detail page. Image Manager provides increased transparency and helps you manage images across your accounts.

Now, images will be marked as Live or Not live. If your image is not live, you can hover over the information icon for more information on the image origin:

  • A merchant under your partner account (we’ll share the account number and merchant token.)
  • A vendor under your partner (we’ll share the account number and merchant token.)
  • Another selling partner.

For information on image uploads, go to Upload images in Image Manager.

To use the tool, go to Image Manager.

Will this help to find hackers when they have changed an image as they take over a listing and make it easier to report them?

How about adding a feature on the main inventory screen that allows for a sort of products that have Live/Not Live instead of making US manually review our listings. Some folks have hundreds/ zillions of listings - how would you expect them to monitor every listing?

This update is helpful. Thank you.

However, there’s still a major gap that makes the Image Manager tool far less useful for Brand Registered owners. When Amazon decides that “Live image is selected from another selling partner,” Seller Support will not disclose who that other partner actually is.

This creates a dead end for legitimate brand owners. For example:

• The brand’s official merchant account (verified and listed in Brand Registry) uploads fully localised Japanese images using the Country-Specific Upload tool.

• Those images meet all compliance standards and are intended for the Japanese marketplace.

• Yet Amazon decides to display English (global) images instead, stating that another selling partner’s images were chosen.

• Seller Support then confirms that the other seller is “also a Brand Owner” and advises us to “contact them,” but refuses to disclose who that seller is.

This is unworkable. How can Brand Owners coordinate or correct catalogue content when Amazon won’t identify which “other” Brand Registered account has publishing priority?

Further, showing English images on the Japanese marketplace is not a “better customer experience.” It’s confusing for customers and undermines localisation efforts by legitimate brand owners.

This needs to be addressed:

If Amazon wants Brand Registered owners to manage catalogue content responsibly, there must be transparency around who else has Brand Representative access and why their content is overriding ours.

Hello @Seller_MPh3N4epTz2jt,

I might be able to help.

Please, can you create a new post in the Grow Your Business category. Mention this news post and provide a JP case ID regarding you wanting Japanese versions of your images.

I will review and see what next steps I can potentially provide.
